Thank you! I should have clarified, it is a decent film, but there are other stocks that I prefer :). I most likely will try it again with another camera/lens.
After a bad experience recently using my Land 450 camera and a precious pack of FPc100 film (the film kept jamming in the camera and I ruined the whole pack), I decided to buy a Polaroid back for the RB67. I got it on Friday, and decided to load it up with another precious pack of FP, and was...
I have been thinking about a portrait lens for awhile now (not that I take many portraits), something affordable, and I learnt of this cheap Sony lens 85mm F2.8, liked the results in the reviews but all the photos were shot on Sony digital cameras. Well, it's an A mount and I hope it fits my...
Ah I see. This sounds very similar to the back focus range finder on my Mamiya 6 folder, it has a thumb wheel on the back to focus. I love that camera!
I am getting there slowly but surely LOL! First the tank, now for some Blazinol for stand development. Exciting times ahead! This is Jobo 2400 tank, complete daylight loading, no bag or darkroom needed.
My first time using XP2, and I LOVE it. Until I learn to develop my own BW film, I think I will use XP2. It really is a very nice film. I shot these with my Minolta Dynax 7 @200 with a no. 8 yellow filter, and my 50/1.7 lens.
A few lucky photographers got to beta test the new Ektachrome film, and have started to post their results on Instagram. WOW, it looks really good, the skin tones are just amazing!!!! I can't wait for the new film.
and another by the same photographer...
Oh if this is the case then I would get it, but I am not even sure where they are with the product for the backers? @MoonMind Matt, did you get yours yet?
I bought a Jobo 2400 tank, which is no longer manufactured, so it cost a ridiculous amount of money for plastic. This should start me on my stand/semi-stand developing journey for at least 35mm :). I have watched a lot of videos on developing, and I honestly cannot bring myself to use a...
When I do go on the route, I plan on starting with stand development, it seems like a good choice for a beginner so thank you for the encouragement! I think the step that makes me worried the most is getting the film onto the reel. I have been looking to purchase a Agfa Rondinax tank, but...
I bought two rolls of XP2 to try out my Nikon F4, and I also bought some proper yellow filters. I am also slowly working up to the idea of self developing BW film :).
Tim, I have the GA645Zi, I really like this camera, it's an AF rangefinder, zooms and takes very good pictures. There is one major thing to look out for, the back LCD panel can be a problem so look for one that works properly, mine is failing and I have no idea how to get it repaired. From...
Wow, very nice! The most loved feature for me with the Mamiya is the back focus wheel, it makes so much sense (to me anyways)! Well, I will have to keep my eye out for an Ikonta 531/16. I looked at some Nettars in vintage shop recently but they needed some serious CLA, which is not easy to...
I now love these folding cameras, what a beauty you have! I love my Mamiya 6 Automat, and I am hoping to buy another in great condition to have a backup.
and here is one which I dried properly. The first photo is from the negative scan, and the second is from the polaroid directly, both with light edits in LR. You will notice a huge difference in shadow detail, and sharpness!
I learnt something new today, quite exciting actually, and then I tried it this evening. I am sure many people know about this, but the new Polaroid film (or the old impossible) can also be peeled apart, not quite like real peel apart film, but it will peel apart to a positive emulsion layer...
I had a roll of Kentmere 100 in a camera with a few shots, I then naively rewound the roll and put into the Olympus MjuII, thought I had wound on there to the first available frame. Well, it obviously didn't work! The lab processed it but wrote a note that all of the frames were overlapped. I...
The SX70 is a great instant camera, with it's sharp lens and great viewfinder. The new film has improved a lot since I first tried it, but it is very expensive compared with Fuji's monochrome wide film.
I thought I would try SX70 BW again, as I didn't have much success the last time. It was better this time, but still not sure about it and it's so expensive. The first three shots were damaged because the frog tongue I had installed was pretty useless! Here are two decent shots, they are ok...
Here is the light meter I bought for a few bucks, it seems very accurate (against my digital camera) but it only measures ambient light. Also, I had an AHA moment, as I did not realise that one has the option of different combinations to obtain the same exposure! Ah, learning is always so good :).
I still have Portra 160 in the Nikon F80, TMax 400 in the Minolta 7, 4 more shots of Bergger's Panchro 400 in the Fujica GW690. I have been preoccupied with the new Mamiya 6 folder (I love this camera), some scanning issues etc. However, I have to get those other shutters firing :).
I just bought some FP100C, expensive and I was only allowed to buy two boxes! I know it's getting rarer by the day, but the price gouging is unbelievable! I was told they have quite a few boxes in stock, so why the limit I wonder.
I also got a vintage Sekonic Autolumi 68 light meter...
Thanks for the encouragement Matt. I really should just do it, as I mentioned, I have not been happy with the labs I have been using :(. I did make a start and bought a tank for 35mm, it is just a matter of taking that first step. I am being rather strange about this, as I am not one to shy...
I just ordered 3 rolls of XP2 in 120 and 2 rolls of Provia F in 120. I am interested in the XP2 because of the C41 processing abilities, as I have not been happy with BW developing at the various labs I have been using. I see why people keep encouraging me to process my own BW film. If I...
Lovely photo!
Hmm, I thought this was one film that was still available easily. I have a 120 pack of it, must stock some more of it. I honestly think they need to remove the word "film" from their name :(. Fujiinstax is perhaps more apt these days LOL!
I got the negs back from Mamiya 6 Automat II folder, I used Delta 100 as the test roll. I am very pleased with the results, no light leaks, lens appears to be very sharp, the sunny16 worked fine (like a bit of highlight/shadow edit in LR). The lab however has left some horrible lines on the...
I might pick up a $25 1960's Kalimar meter tht is still working and make do with it until I decide to buy a new meter, here is Canada they are horrendously expensive!!!
Thanks for the suggestions Matt, I'll have a look them. I have used my phone in the past, but wasn't very happy with the apps I was using. I would like a mountable meter, as well has a hand held, I will have a look at the Sekonic L-308S.
I loaded the Mamiya 6 with a "test" roll of Delta 100 last night, and can I say this was the easiest MF camera I have loaded yet! I fired off all 12 shots this morning using Sunny16. We shall see what I get or don't get, and how good I was with Sunny16 or not, as this would be my first time...
Thanks, I will take a look but I have figured out what was wrong, the shutter mechanism wasn't put back properly, presumably when the seller was checking it out. It's now back in place and I can fire the shutter. The neat thing about this camera is the lens can be unscrewed and another brand...
Ok, I got this Mamiya 6, I believe the model is the Automat, it's in excellent condition for it's age! I got it today, and embarrassingly for the life of me, I can't seem to fire the shutter. Does anyone know if it's of those cameras where you have to film in it first? I can't seem to find a...
