Fuji And so the family grows...

Congrats on the new addition, I am sure you will love it and hope to see some pics from it soon. I don't have an X100 but do have an XP1 and X20. I use the hood on the XP1 but never on the ax20, namely bc of the portability issue. The XP1 is on my neck or in a bag anyway but I like being able...

Fuji Early X20 Glitch - Defaulting to 'S' image size on its own

Flysurfer, thank you! It was the removal of the SD card. i was shooting various ISO, NR, and DR test shots so i was ejecting the card to upload each series...occasionally, i would turn the camera w/o the memory card which is when the camera changed to 'S' mode. Mystery solved!!

Fuji Early X20 Glitch - Defaulting to 'S' image size on its own

I just picked up my X20 the other day and have begun to determine the best setup for my needs. One aspect I haven't changed is the resolution, yet I find the camera changes to 2048x1536 resolution without my input...is anyone else noticing this with their cameras? If so, think this is an early...

Fuji X20 availability update from Amazon

I placed my order on Amazon US on feb 6th, and when I emailed about an update last week, was told it would still be delivered within the March-April timeframe but they upgraded me to free 2-day shipping to 'compensate' for the uncertainty/inconvenience. Two days later my arrival window got...

    Fuji Filters and filter mount.

I had the Marumi 40mm on my X10, which I sold in anticipation of the X20. The filter was good but I had a stack of 46mm B+W filters, including a UV, which I really preferred to use and decided to try a Heavystar 40-46mm step-up ring (avail on Amazon or eBay) and that really is a STELLAR set-up...

Fuji Would you replace a 5D with an X100S?

XP1 actually replaced my 5D and I only have the 35mm right now. Will eventually get the 56mm when it's released and possibly a wider lens or X100s to round out the kit. I also had an X10 (now waiting for the X20 to be shipped to me) as a companion camera. This replaced the Canon and the two...

    Fuji X20 and RX100 - a subjective POV

Wow very cool, I did not realize the Merlin connection there. My fixed gear is a plain jane felt cromo frame I put together with old parts...and a Chris King headset for a little bling ;) a friend of mine convinced me to get a specialized roubaix a couple years ago and that's my road...

    Fuji X20 and RX100 - a subjective POV

Ray, Btw, that is hardcore!! I only put on about 3000 miles a year as I don't really like to ride in the winter (spin classes then). You ever do any centuries or other organized rides on the east coast? Last one for me was the Seagull and I am thinking about the Civl War century this fall...

What frame is that? Looks nice! And do I see a Chris King headset on there :) my handlebar bag is very similar in size.

    Fuji Essential Kit for X20

Agree with all the 'less is more' comments but would emphasize that extra batteries are a good idea...Almost a must if you snap a bunch and/or use fill-flash frequently. My 'essential' lightweight setup includes the following: (1) GGS 3" screen protector (minimal degradation and preserves...

Fuji x20 for skiing and cycling

Hi dannykap, I actually just posted some insight about my experience with the X10 and cycling in the 'X20 and RX100 - subjective POV' thread which may be helpful. As for skiing, I've used both the S90 and X10 on the slopes and that would be where the smaller camera has a slight advantage, IMO...

    Fuji X20 and RX100 - a subjective POV

As a fellow cyclist and former X10 owner (sold it and pre-ordered the X20), thought I'd offer my insight... I am on my bikes a lot, particularly when going out around town on my fixed gear to take pictures. When I still had my X10, I had it wrapped in my Gariz half case and Gun Shot strap which...

Fuji Fujifilm X-M1 What do we know?

It would be nice if something came out tho...with Nikon's Coolpix A announcement (which only really caught my eye bc of the small size), I think Fuji would knock it out of the park with a compact mid-level camera either: - a fixed lens compact with an APS-C sensor and X10/20 styling. No hybrid...

    Fuji X10/X20 battery replacements

Initially I purchased supposed Fuji-branded batteries on Amazon but one of them was clearly a knock-off ( should have know with such low prices) so rather than gambling on getting another authentic one, I did some reading on various forums and gave the Maximal Power ones a try for $11 a...

Fuji How important are fast SD cards?

When I made the switch to Fuji, I found that class 10, 45mb made a huge difference over my older class 6 cards. And since I use Apple, specifically my iPad more than Mac, I have gotten in the habit of formatting the card in the camera after uploading and clearing the card out. A few times I...

    Fuji Off camera flash...

Yes it does, which can be a challenge at times when you don't want a light source right in front but thru a little trial and error, I've been able to make it work

    Fuji Off camera flash...

Yeah I use a Canon off-camera cable, usually with the XP1, but also with the X10. In fact I use my EF-X20 with the X10 in wireless mode (no TTL) which is quite versatile

Fuji Any chance X-M1 is a Monochrome Fuji?

I'm of the mindset that it would be an entry level ILC as well. Tho I hope it would have the following: - same X-Trans II/EXR II setup like the X100s. Would be very surprised if a sensor between the 2/3" and APS-C were developed tho I wouldn't mind a slightly downsized sensor if it used the...

    Fuji digital zoom

Once I learned how to maximize the capabilities of the EXR sensor, i never bothered to use the digital zoom function, figuring that it would be a crop an already reduced image (6mp) since I was always shooting in DR or SN mode...

Fuji Sample photos with X20 is available on flickr

Hmmm, I saw some significant differences over the LX7. Personally, I do like the Lx7 quite a bit, got one for my GF when they went on sale for $299 in the US however I do like the tactile layout of the X-series much better...the aperture ring on the LX7 is cool but can be confusing for newbies...

Fuji Sample photos with X20 is available on flickr

indeed, much appreciated. I like that this set cites some of the various digital zoom, artistic filters and auto modes, etc...I rarely use them but nice to see the digital zoom and toy camera effect work so well. Can't wait to get it - having sold my x10 and my kit on loan, just having my...

Fuji Sample photos with X20 is available on flickr

Just at a glance, compared his pic of the suntory pub with the X20, GH3 w/M. Zuiko, Canon S110 and Nikon D600...granted all shot at different times/settings and all downsized but looking at how each handles exposure, detail and color is interesting. IMO the X20 blows away the Canon, better than...

    Fuji X10 for beginner

The manual zoom alone sets the x10/20 apart, imo most tactically enjoyable camera to use. Plus the EXR sensor of the X10, when understood, are capable of wonderful captures. And if the X-Trans sensor is similarly capable to the APS-C version, then I could see the x20 pushing up to a very...

Fuji Just sold my X10, now which to pre-order, X100s or X20?

I'm wondering if the new 2/3 X-Trans sensor will be equiv. to 12MP m43 like they claim. If so, I'd def get that over the X100s. The 's' is awesome but not sure I can live with one focal length, plus X20 has OIS (offsetting low light performance a bit, maybe 1.5 stops), tele for portraits...
