Hello y'all. You probably know me from every other forum here because I've had every other camera and probably the even ones. Recently traded in my relatively new Fuji X-H1 and a couple stellar, fast primes for a black Df. It's taken me tens of thousands of pictures and as most likely dollars to...
Well, I rounded out my version of budget trinity with the 14 f2.8 and I'm pretty much liking the way you can crop and still have plenty of data to work with. Shot from moving car from about 100 feet away.
I believe that is the smell, something they've treated the eyecup with as they tout that lint/dust does not stick to it. I also have an EC-XT L, long eyecup for the X-T1 and that is identical to the X-H1 cup but it has lint all over it and has a stickier surface and no odor.
Weird question of the day (week, month) Just unboxed the kit w/grip. The whole thing smells like a cross between Raid bug spray and Febreze. I don't know if it's off gassing of the packaging materials or the leatherette covering, it's mostly prominent on the battery grip and manual bag. Anyone...
The latest rev removed my Fuji profiles under Camera Calibration and also under Effects, there was a Dehaze slider that is now MIA. Any suggestions as to where these went?
My name is Bruce, I'm an avid Fuji user and have been a member here for three years, apparently now I have achieved "Rookie" status, how does one lose rank here ;)
Taking a break from DSLR land for a while, sold my Canon rig and reacquired a used Leica X 113 to try and connect with the ultimately more contemplative way of shooting.
That's kind of interesting, for my RX1r, I got the electronic viewfinder, never used it, bought the optical from B&H for a couple hundred bucks as they are blowing them out, never used it either! For street shooting I preset and shoot from the hip or frame up with the LCD. When I first got my...
Well Ray, I'm constantly reminded of your long time evangelizing of the Nikon and just picked up a Coolpix A with nifty rectangular hood. My RX1R is my permanent backup for my 1D Mark III for paying gigs. I'm excited about the it and hope to share your enthusiasm and learn from your past...
For what it's worth, with my RX1r (original), In LR, a bit of Clarity slider to the left gives me a subtler rendering akin to my A7/Leica 35 Summicron.
I owned a RRS mini pod/head combo and regret selling it. Currently it's difficult to purchase directly from RRS as they have a deal with B&H and neither seems to have the same stock available. Long story short, I came across this Leofoto pod/head combo on Amazon

Did you format both cards in the camera? The reason I ask is that the RX1 reads the memory on start up and if it's not formatted properly, it may be hanging at that point.
I had one of the original Fotodiox metal, bayonet mount rectangular hoods on my first RX1 and regret selling it as all they offer now is a vented version. I found a different one available on Amazon made by UN for about $64.00 and it ain't cheap but closest to what i've been looking for. It has...

It took me 4 years of shooting a lot, owning many interchangeable lens systems from Sony, Fuji, Canon, and Nikon to begin to truly appreciate this camera's form and IQ. Good to hear from you too!
After a foray into 5D mk III territory and a brief encounter with an X-T2/Summarit 35 2.5, I realized that the RX1r (original version) is the one for this year. I'd owned one previously and shot it side by side with my M9/35 Summicron. Comparing the files, it was really difficult to distinguish...
Well for those of you who know me on this forum, it's not news I harbor no particular brand loyalty. (I trade gear a lot!) I've shot Leica, Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, Fuji, name the model, I've shot with it. Back in 2012 I purchased a D600 for use at a law firm I worked at and really liked...
Well, just picked up a used 70D with the 18-135 and battery grip as my bread and butter rig. Took a few test shots today and as much as I'd like to have a 5DIII, I'm good with this. I have my A7 for full frame/Leica glass needs.
