And a couple from more unusual filters (on a full spectrum converted GF2)

There are several other infra red threads that are more recent than this one (& I've added IR images quite freely to other threads where the subject matter fits).
I think IR image sharing works best in the IR images section ( Extended Spectrum: Infrared and Ultraviolet Images ) but I'm more than...
Just to show another option here's one from a Sigma SD14 with the dust filter removed & a green filter added, where due to the Foveon sensor IR shows in the red channel but the remaining colours are more or less as normal. (The dust filter is also the hot mirror & is user removable in about 5...
I've got a handful of wide angle converters the Olympus 0.8x one is quite reasonable, but none of the others are a patch on a wide angle lens. They may prove useful with something like the lensbaby, (or of course a fixed lens camera) where the available lenses are restricted.
Teleconverters &...
They were my Dad & my Daughter, back in 2010. It may have proved the theory but it's certainly not a great shot.
Here's a later one with the same camera using Panoramic stitching (Microsoft ICE, combining 5 handheld shots) instead of the fisheye adapter a much better approach (and helped by...
Perhaps I'll add one of my early IR shots from an unmodified K100d (and the only one I have to hand that's not desaturated.)
It's NOT in any way impressive but was only a test shot to see if stacking a fisheye adapter onto the outside of the IR filter could be made to work.

A lovely selection Lucien. I think the ones which have an overall red cast may have been improved with a better white balance. Colouring is usually fairly subtle with a 720nm filter but your definitely finding some variations. I have heard that the white balance control often doesn't go far...
Thought I'd share this shot taken with my no-name Chinese fish-eye & a 720nm filter:

Due to the severely curved front element & the fixed hood this was as close as I could get the filter., it was actually touching the hood both top & bottom.
With a full spectrum convertion there are also more unusual filters that can be employed such as the U330 (transmitting UV & NIR):

or BG3 which gives some visual blue as well:

I generally shoot JPEG for my IR & find the ideal WB varies with the filter type. With my 590nm a low kelvin setting tends to work pretty well & a simple Hue adjustment gives results I like without the need of a colour swap.
About 180° adjustment gives 'Goldie' like results:

I've played with IR on multiple cameras with a wide range of filters & lenses over the last 10 years. This has shown me lists of hotspots often need a large shovel of salt.
I've had a lens/filter give severe hot spots on one camera but none at all on another.
I've had hotspots appear when...
That depends what you're trying to do with the CPL!
Adjust the CPL after focusing to get the effect you want. Sometimes refocusing may be needed, with subsequent tweaking of the polariser. If photographing through glass AF might originally focus on your reflection.
Effects from polarisers can...
