Micro 4/3 Debating the Olympus 75mm VS Sigma 56mm

My vote goes to the 56mm f1.4. The 75mm has slightly shallower depth of field at equivalent head shots but it's much harder to use due to the narrower field of view. Apart from the depth of field, the sigma does everything else a bit better (weight, size, light gathering, weather sealing...

Micro 4/3 Wide angle Lawoa or ?

    +1 for the Laowa 10mm f2. It's a lovely little thing.

Micro 4/3 I made a software to find settings that match the JPEG output between cameras

Oh my! That's amazing! Would it be possible to add the newer film sims as well? Like Nostalgic neg, Bleach bypass or Reala ACE?

    Micro 4/3 OM 20/1.4 Thoughts

Indeed! It's frustratingly slow. Depends on what you shoot as well. I never shoot action, so it doesn't super matter. But for <200 euro it's too good of a deal.

    Micro 4/3 OM 20/1.4 Thoughts

I personally don't like it's bokeh, size and price. I think it can't compete with the Panasonic 20mm f1.7, a lens which has, imo, amazing rendering.

Same! I doubt it's going to happen though. Anything chonkier than the G100/G110 is a no for me.

Micro 4/3 What Do You Use MFT For?

MFT's only strengths to me are in it's small size and light weight. When you go for heavy and bulky pro glass in MFT, I feel you are missing the point. At the moment I have the following: Olympus 40-150 R Sigma 56 f1.4 Mitakon 25mm f0.95 Lumix 12-32 pancake Lumix 20mm f1.7 Laowa 10mm f2 All...

Micro 4/3 Your Treasured M43 'Sleeper Lens"?

https://cameraderie.org/threads/mitakon-zhongyi-speedmaster-25mm-f-0-95.53774/#post-478294 For me, its highlights some great m43 qualities. It's very small and quite light for what it is. I believe its one of those lenses with "3d pop". I don't think many people have this one.

Micro 4/3 Camera / Lens Recommendation for a Young Newbie

I got a bunch of cameras at the moment. If I had to sell ALL my gear, the lx100 would be the last one I will sell. It's so nice.

Micro 4/3 Camera / Lens Recommendation for a Young Newbie

What about the Olympus Stylus 1. Old but Gold. On that note, could even have a look at the Fujifilm x10 / x20 / x30 series.

Micro 4/3 Review: Haoge HG-EM5III (E-M5 mark III) grip

Nice review! Part of me does think at +100g, it's perhaps time to just get a EM1 mk2 as its almost the same size and weight then. Would be cheaper too! Unless of course the oled EVF is the unique selling point for you.

    Micro 4/3 Upgrading to E-P7 from E-PL7

I personally pounced on a E-PL9 (for 260). In theory, it has what I want (It is arriving next week): 4k video, higher than 1/4000th shutter speed, even if it is only usable in some P mode it would not matter as I use a manual lens anyway. compact peaking in movie mode (I does!) cheap The E-P7...

Micro 4/3 M43 users, what gear makes the M43 system stand out for you?

The Olympus 40-150 R aka plastic fantastic. Just a great, super cheap lens. Has a bit of reach and can still do some portraiture. I've really been impressed with the Olympus e-pl8. Just an awesome camera body. Looks great. Built well. Handles fine. Super simple. All for ~170 ish euro. So yeah...

    Micro 4/3 Favorite walkabout prime?

Speedmaster 25mm f0.95. I just really like this lens. It is very hard to focus, but it's very satisfying when you get it right!

Micro 4/3 What Do You Use MFT For?

I use m43 for documenting my kid mostly and some travel. Or when I want don't want to risk taking out my fuji gear. I also use my E-PL8 as a second cam with a more standard focal length, in case I have a tight portrait lens on the Fuji (which is most of the time). Also I know it's not 100%...

    Micro 4/3 Comparison PL25 & P20

I can safely say the P20 is the slowest autofocusing lens I have used. It is incredibly frustrating to capture quick/candid moments, wide open. For anything else, it's lovely.

    Micro 4/3 Comparison PL25 & P20

Excuse my ignorance, why do you need bright primes if you shoot static scenery? I think f2.8 or f4 zooms + ibis would be much more flexible?

    Micro 4/3 Comparison PL25 & P20

I find the P20's autofocus speed to be totally unacceptable. Sure the images are nice. But if the thing you want to image moves even a little, you are just going to be frustrated. I want my primes to be as flexible as possible, as we already have made some tradeoffs compared to mounting a zoom...

    Micro 4/3 Olympus E-PL8 AF

Hi, the EPL-8 is currently my main m43 camera. The AF sometimes behaves a little odd. The AF when I have all the green boxes "active" sometimes latches on the wrong things. I mostly document my kids/family, and I just want things to be in focus. I set the release prio to focus. Only using...
