I completely agree. The original has an amazing rendering that isn't duplicated by the next version. I managed to buy another original and sadly after a week of using it I got the dreaded E:61:00 error on screen and the camera refuses to focus. And I'm out 1k, may have to send it in for repair...

I was actually thinking of getting an A7r2 or the 3 when it comes out as I have been looking at those files and some are very nice. It would be perhaps better than a rx1r2 since you can add lenses. and its cheaper and the rx1 would be the MILKY file creator.

Hey Luke I don't think you can change the resolution unless you are in JPG mode and do an in camera crop. I don't like to shoot Jpg. I don't think that there another way to change the resolution. but its great idea. maybe there is a way?

Maybe you can get your friend to give it back to you. I would try that. I don't think the Mark 2 version has the secret sauce of the RX1 New sensor has really changed the rendering, IMO
