Sony Monster LA-FE2 Nikon to Sony adapter, now with screw drive AF!

焦点工房 on Reels | 焦点工房 · Original audio This Monster LA-FE2 adapter looks super interesting! You can now get AF with older screw drive Nikon lenses. This would be perfect for some of those older Nikon screw drive prime lenses! Now Nikon has no excuse to make their own version!

Sony I don’t own a single Sony prime

When I was shooting only DSLRs, it made sense to shoot camera brand lenses based on optimal auto focus performance. Though with CDAF/OSPDAF, 3rd party glass will focus just as accurately on mirrorless cameras. Plus USB docks for Samyang/Tamron/Sigma, etc. allow precise focus tuning (something...

Sony I don’t own a single Sony prime

I've gotten rid of all my Sony native glass. All I have are Samyang primes, a Tamron zoom and an adapted Sigma 50mm. I don't shoot sports action and I don't need a stop-action movie when it comes to action sequences. 15fps is plenty for 3rd party glass!

    Sony Sony A7IV v Sony A7RIV ..... or A9

Get an A7RIV. Might as well go big if pixels are a concern. Just shoot less so you don't fill up your hard drive space! ;)

Sony Advice needed. Samyang 35/1.4 return or no?

I'd return it for a full refund. I sold my copy which was properly AF fine-tuned and well cared for (near mint) for $380. I baby my gear and keep all the boxes, cases, etc. If you shop around, you can find clean copies between $350-$400. You can even try the Sam 35mm f/1.8 FE which in my opinion...

Sony New Sony A1 Flagship Camera

I've been thinking about the A7C as well, but I'm not sure I want to give up my dual card slots and bigger evf. I did that when I shot M43, switching from the EM5II to the Pen-F. Afterwards I found I actually preferred the EVF hump!

Sony New Sony A1 Flagship Camera

I probably won't since I still have a very good A7III as my backup. Also I like having at least one USB type-C body in the Sony kit. It charges faster and works faster for data transfers and charging the camera using a power bank (less fiddly). That's the only thing I wish the A9 mk. I instead...

Sony New Sony A1 Flagship Camera

Awesome! I'd love to buy another A9 mk.I , it's the best bang-for-buck mirrorless action camera!

Sony New Sony A1 Flagship Camera

You guys should look up Random Camera Junk on Youtube. That channel rips on all the camera reviewers. I'd link it here, but some of the content is NSFW! The Sony A1 seems to be the kind of camera that will bring out the trolling of the "independent" Youtube reviewers! :D

Sony New Sony A1 Flagship Camera

I guess it's okay, but I'm getting a bit tired of these new announcements. In about a week or two all these "social" influencers will be saying it's the best thing since sliced bread and that you have to spend more $$$ because all your old equipment is now obsolete! Also I hope these bird...

Sony New Sony A1 Flagship Camera

Sweet, I'll pick up another A9 mk.I below $2k! I don't need any of this new tech or high megapixels!

Sony Sony a7c -- FF in an a6000 body

I'm super happy with my Samyang 18/45 combo. Not so much with the 35mm f/1.4, but their 85mm 1.4 is a gem. I can see using the A7C with the Sam 35mm f/1.8 that's coming out!

Sony Sony a7c -- FF in an a6000 body

The more I look at the A7C, the more it's growing on me. I know it's handicapped on multiple fronts to fit the smaller form factor, but I've seen some more pics of the camera and I could totally see using this as a B-cam mounted with my small Samyang primes!

Sony Sony a7c -- FF in an a6000 body

That reviewer needs to take a breath. He sounds like he was puffing on a pack of Marlboro Reds before filming this video! Plus where's his mask, doesn't he know there's a pandemic! :roflmao: I had the Pen-F, the EVF was okay and certainly useable. I was able to shoot portraits with that...

    Sony A73 vs A7R2

I've been tempted to pick up an A7R3 now that prices have dropped big time. There are times when I could use the extra resolution when cropping, but I wish Sony had a small/medium raw option like Nikon since I don't always need full resolution.

Sony [rant] Got my FE70-200 F4 today

The problem with Sony isn't so much the colors, but Sony glass! It leans way too blue for my taste. You can alleviate some of your color issues shooting other brand glass. For example Samyang glass runs much warmer and punchier, giving Sony images a different look. Same goes with adapting Canon...

Sony Sony A7 as a second camera

$1500 is cheap if you're comparing prices to Leica equipment! Don't worry, there's no such thing as cheap in photography, eventually everyone succumbs to their GAS desires! :D

Sony Sony A7 as a second camera

To be honest I've been tempted to pick up the original A7S, mainly because it does better lowlight over the A7, I believe it has a faster refresh rate in low light (EVF/LCD doesn't get choppy), comes with a metal mount, has very good high ISO (only 12mp) and it was the first Sony FF MILC to have...

Sony Sony A7 as a second camera

Things I like better about the A7 are the metal dials, smaller size profile and what I believe to be better low ISO images. What I don't like about the A7 is poor low light handling (EVF/LCD gets grainy and choppy), plastic mount (fixable with aftermarket replacement), light reflections at night...

Sony Anybody using the Lens Turbo II with the E Mount and have mounting issues?

Last week I picked up a Lens Turbo II (Nikon F to E adapter) for my recently acquired NEX-6. Optically it works great, but I was having issues with the LT II adapter slipping out of the lock position when trying to switch out lenses. I realized there's a little metal tab that was slightly...

Sony How Big Are the Sony FE Lenses Really?

In FF land, slowish 35mm and 50mm (1.8) lenses are small to begin with. I have a pancake Nikon MF 50mm 1.8 that's as big as a Panasonic 20mm. I think FE fast zooms and wide/long primes will be close to the same size as DSLR equivalent lenses.
