Today, a traditional landscape picture. I am mainly carrying the 16/1.4 and the Laowa 9/2.8 these days and sometimes I forget to use the 16mm as much as I ought to.

This is a single picture (no compositing involved) taken using a bunch of Godox off camera flashes (mixture of TT685 and MF-12s iirc

I’d be all in on the 13/1.4 if I didn’t already have the 16/1.4. I think 13 would be too close to the 16 to justify both.

Been using this lens a little more for some indoor work. I have a small black background and some lightstands, umbrellas and Godox flashes. I have been reading Light - Science and Magic so trying out a more considered approach to light positions. This is an artificial plant btw.

Trying out the focus merging in Affinity Photo, this is about 6 pictures stacked. Used 3 Godox Mf-12 flash units as well - the flower is about an inch in diameter.

There seems to be confusion between Meike and Neewer but looking at their 35/1.4 offerings they seem slightly different. I've decided to give the newer model (Neewer 35/1.4) a try on Fuji as I don't currently have any "standard" lens and Amazon had it for about £65.

I was in West Bridgford, Nottingham last week helping to setup a photographic exhibition. I arrived a little early and went for a quick saunter with the X-T3 and 16/1.4. There is an old building behind the library the exhibition is in, the light was reflecting off the windows and onto the block...

Only 8 images in this stack, much happier with the lighting this time - I used the two little Godox MF-12 flashes off camera, plus a TT600 using a snoot and diffuser panel.

Been a while but made a conscious effort to go out with the 100-400 today

This is one from the summer, taken on the Great Ridge in the Peak District in Derbyshire.

I've photographed this oak(?) tree a few times as it is on one of our regular dog walks. This week there are still some (brown) leaves on it but there was also a low winter sun behind it - we were in a lull between heavy rain showers.

This is much closer to 1:1, this is a box of Tic Tac sweets sitting on a light box.

This is a metal model of a Klingon spaceship, to give a sense of scale the model is about 4 inches long. I deliberately lit using a single LED panel to give harsh shadows.
