Here's a new trick -- just tried it to see what would happen. X-E2 in 590nm infrared with 14mm f2.8 Fujinon, available light with only moon as illumination on snowy back yard. Channel swapped in GIMP.

Okay. The 14 arrived about two hours ago; it was gray and stormy and not infrared-friendly. In that I got the lens for shooting infrared (the 10-24 is not good for IR), I waited until the sun came out, which it did a few minutes ago. I'm in love with this lens!

Great pictures. I particularly like the Bitis gabonica, which is one scary reptile (though it's kind of sluggish, it has inch-long fangs and therefore will kill you stone dead if you manage to get it to bite you). And the gorilla picture is both a great photograph and a testament to the lens.

I've asked on the main forum but I thought it might be worth the trouble of asking here: has anyone used the 25/1.8 7artisans, Meike, or anny of the other inexpensive Chinese lenses for infrared? I'm trying to determine whether it has a hotspot at any aperture.

It has a fairly bad hotspot at all apertures, but occasionally it's usable for shooting infrared.
