    Fuji Used Backup Fuji body

I want to go to X-T5 at some point but would try to keep my X-T3 as a backup. I didnā€™t like the X-T4 when I tried it as it is noticeably chunkier than the 3, whereas the 5 feels almost the same.

    Fuji X-S20 and XF 8mm f/3.5 announced

Price has put me off the lens as well. I should have a Laowa 9mm f/2.8 arriving tomorrow

    Fuji X-S20 and XF 8mm f/3.5 announced

They say that the sensor combined with more modern hardware and a bigger battery allows many more shots per battery.

Fuji Waiting (im)patiently for the 8mm f/3.5 announcement

Price is confirmed at $799 with availability by end of June. It looks pretty small and light, minimum focus distance is 0.18m but it is weather sealed. I have ordered a Laowa 9mm f/2.8 that should be here tomorrow :)

    Fuji X-S20 and XF 8mm f/3.5 announced

Camera is $1299 Lens is $799 Both available by end of June There is also a new X-App (Android and iOS) that (hopefully) works better than the current remote app. I will try the app but am passing on the camera and lens.

Fuji Waiting (im)patiently for the 8mm f/3.5 announcement

Fujirumors are saying $799 which is the same price as the 33/1.4 I believe. Will wait and see, but at that price I will probably drop back to the Laowa 9/2.8 instead I think.

Fuji Waiting (im)patiently for the 8mm f/3.5 announcement

Fuji rumours are saying that the 8/3.5 is 100% certain to be announced formally on May 24th. Just waiting on an indication of price nowā€¦

Fuji Waiting (im)patiently for the 8mm f/3.5 announcement

Iā€™m assuming (hoping, actually) that the new UWA will be announced later this month in the Fuji summit. Iā€™ll be really tempted by it if the price is reasonable and the specs look good. Otherwise it will be back to trying to find a decent Laowa 9/2.8 I think. It feels to me like this lens will...

Fuji The itch for Fujifilm, to switch or not.

Nice, the X-T1 is a great camera. I still have mine and need to start using it more (I have the 2 and 3 as well). Iā€™m a big fan of manual lenses as well and will be interested to hear how the TTArtisan 35 is - I ended up with the 7Artisan 35/1.2

I have the 7Artisans 35/1.2 mkII - another you might consider

Fuji The itch for Fujifilm, to switch or not.

I have owned several Fujis (X-E1&2 plus X-T1-3) and have enjoyed them all. I currently use the X-T2&3 almost interchangeably, the only thing that,T the X-T3 has over the 2 is the 3d level feature, which I foolishly considered a gimmick until I realised how helpful it is when shooting wide angle.

Fuji X-T3 V4.0 Firmware now available

Fuji continue to Kaizen and have released new firmware for the X-T3. This brings the AF improvements from the X-T4, so far it looks pretty quick to me but not had a chance to try with the 100-400 which would be the real test. There are quite a few other changed like software based focus...

    Fuji X-T4 discussion

Yes @Bobby Tingle I saw that as well (though even that announcement has caused a rumpus on DPR) and I look forward to it (hopefully it will be as comprehensive as the X-E2 update when the X-E2S came out). Do you think it will add IBIS and the selfie screen? ;)

Fuji Four X mount lenses coming

A new 23/1.4 with WR would probably tempt me, even though I already have the 16/1.4. I would also like something lightweight and long, maybe a 200/4.

  21. AndyMcD

    Fuji X-T4 discussion

I'm not planning to ditch my X-T3 at this stage, because IBIS isn't that important to me. It looks like Fuji have tried to answer some objections but I am deeply unimpressed by how civilised this discussion is! ;)

Fuji First Impressions of X-T3 (coming from X-T1)

I think that moving between the X-E2 and X-T1 was harder than moving between the X-T3 and X-T1 so it wasn't all bad and I got pretty good at jumping between them.

Fuji First Impressions of X-T3 (coming from X-T1)

Now that I have a 100-400, today is the first day when I felt that that I really needed to have two cameras with me. So, I mounted the 100-400 on the X-T3 and stuck the 16/1.4 onto the X-T1. I also had the 56/1.2 with me just in case. The two cameras are sufficiently different to make it quite...

Fuji (Sigh) Another lens purchase on the horizon

Fuji (Sigh) Another lens purchase on the horizon

So, 100-400 and TC1.4 are now here. I went out with it yesterday and our local buzzard put on a display for me. This is at 400mm (I am not ready to try the TC yet) and is uncropped. This is a 100% crop... I was shooting bursts using CH at 8.0fps but my keeper rate was at 0% - literally...

Fuji (Sigh) Another lens purchase on the horizon

I made the mistake of wandering into the electrical store in Heathrow last week, assuming that they wouldn't have anything interesting. Unfortunately, they had a 100-400... It was big and heavy but not as much as I thought it would be. The OIS works really well and I want to start getting...

    Fuji Struggling with the 50-230

So, I think I got to the bottom of this. 1. Release priority was set for AF-C :speechless: 2. Using single AF point greatly improves things at the scale I have been working These four show that static/slow moving things aren't a problem. This one is uncropped. This proves that the lens is...

    Fuji Struggling with the 50-230

Just found this one from my archive, taken back in July 2017. This is 1/250, f7.1 @230mm - so OIS would have been working for me here. Also, this would have been taken in AF-S with single point focus I think (and on the X-T1, not X-T3). So, the lens certainly was capable of producing decent...

    Fuji Struggling with the 50-230

Not just moving things, some of the non-moving are soft too, which makes me wonder if the 5x5 focus grid is the problem. Good point, I will take a look at some charts. Wide open for that lens at 230mm is f6.7 and iirc it is considered soft wide open - by my reckoning f9 is only about one stop...

    Fuji Struggling with the 50-230

You can turn the OIS off in the menu - but I didn't for these pics. I have read that OIS could be a cause of blurriness so I wondered about turning it off. Of course, being able to easily switch OIS on and off is one of the benefits of the 55-200 over the 50-230 (along with the aperture control...

    Fuji Struggling with the 50-230

I've been trying my hand at wildlife for the past few days. My only decently long lens (past 90) is the 50-230 and I tried it out yesterday on some local birds. I was using single drive mode and AFC with a 5x5 zone and found it a struggle to get anything sharp. These are the best three from the...

    Fuji 6 miles and 56mm

Went for a hike around Upper Derwent Reservoir in Derbyshire this morning. Weather was bright but with cloud but with no chance of rain, so I kept the 56/1.2 on for the whole hike - rather than using either the 16 or 90. All processed in Capture One

    Fuji 90/2 is here

Initial impressions: Not as big/heavy as I thought it would be Super sharp (even at f2) Quick Close focus is better than I expected (should have known this from reading the specs) I think that my core kitbag is going to be 16, 90, 56 in that order. I'm struggling to see what other lens I might...

Fuji Using Nikon G lenses on Fuji x

I have a few cheapo adapters for Nikon lenses. Some only work for lenses with an aperture ring but one supports G lenses, but does not do auto focus. I tried this with my Sigma 30/1.4 and 10-20 but in the end I sold them because I didn't like using them manually, plus the weight and size.

Fuji So tell me your experience with the 56/1.2XF

I have the 56/1.2 and I've found it to be a really useful lens. It works great for portraits but it is also pretty handy for landscapes and general photography. I've never been troubled by the focus speed on it (but I do have low expectations since I spent quite a while using old Nikon manual...

Fuji V2.0 firmware now out for X-T3

The changes are mainly related to video but they have added a couple of extra display indicators: - Kelvin value for WB when WB set manually - Charging icon when camera is plugged into USB or charging from the grip I will probably look to get this update installed in the next couple of days.

Fuji First Impressions of X-T3 (coming from X-T1)

Had a play with the iphone app earlier and whilst connecting it came up with a message saying I could have new FW for the X-T3. Like a loon I clicked yes, and after 5 nail biting minutes it completed and had actually updated the firmware in the camera.

Fuji X-E2: still a good buy?

Definitely @theoldsmithy - I ran an X-T1/X-E2 combination until recently and they are a great pairing. The X-E2 (latest F/W) is a major improvement over the (already good) X-E1

Fuji First Impressions of X-T3 (coming from X-T1)

    Fuji Wet Fuji Lenses

Hmmmm, I think I read something very similar on another forum and I think it was Wex in that instance as well. The speculation at that time was whether it might have been condensation. I have used Wex to buy used and new kit and have always found them reputable - however, I have never tried...

Fuji First Impressions of X-T3 (coming from X-T1)

I wouldn't say that it stays red for hours or hundreds of shots, but it stays red a lot longer then my "red, then dead" X-T1 which would get about 2 shots when it went from 2 bars to 1 bar.

Fuji First Impressions of X-T3 (coming from X-T1)

That's what this forum is for isn't it - spending other people's money? It's people on here that sold me on the 16/1.4 and the 56/1.2 - consider this payback!

Fuji First Impressions of X-T3 (coming from X-T1)

Wow, after spending all of October just using the 16/1.4 I have just tried the 35/1.4 and the 56/1.2 on the X-T3. The 35/1.4 particularly is like a completely different lens. It gives out a confident buzz as it locks straight onto focus. The only time I have seen it hunt is when I am trying to...
