Fuji Fuji X100VI coming Feb 20th

They were able to get the larger battery in the X-S20 with only minor changes so there is hope.

Tilt screen with IBIS? I'll probably put my name on a list.

    Fuji X100V annoyances

You can turn off the wrap-around, but I think what he's saying is when he hits the edge, it doesn't stay on the edge, it goes to the other side. @Ad Dieleman looking at page 71 of the manual I have (don't have the camera anymore) shows the AF points short of the edge of the screen with what...

Fuji Your Fuji photo editor of choice?

Like Andrew, but specifically. I tended to use Capture One Express for Fuji when I wanted to dial in a specific formula or monochrome setting. Something I also do with Olympus, I use their SW for monochrome. Otherwise, I just use Lightroom.

    Fuji New Fuijfilm gear ...

I still miss it from my DSLR days find myself occasionally looking at the top of my E-M1.2 in situations when I'm using the EVF a lot.

    Fuji New Fuijfilm gear ...

The top LCD is the one thing that had me consider a G9 before I got my E-M1.2. It's nice to see that Fuji has kept it on the X-H2s. Wondering what a non "S" version of this might be like (other than hopefully cheaper;)).

Advice Wanted Fujifilm Pre-Shot VS. the competition?

Without diverting the thread too much I'll post a link I did with a direct comparison of the Fuji X-E3 and E-M1.2 a couple years ago. https://cameraderie.org/threads/fuji-x-e3-vs-oly-pen-f.49693/post-363038

    Fuji Fuji XF70-300 4-5.6

If I were still in the Fuji camp I would be interested. It does fill a hole most systems have options to fill, there's a big gap between the 50-230mm and 100-400mm. I could see an X100v as a weather sealed option (and filling the small carry camera) paired with the X-S10 + 10-24 / 16-80 /...

    Fuji New Fuji camera?

I do understand Fuji's desire to attract smartphone users. But if that's how I wanted to interact with my camera I would just use my phone. To me this looks like maybe Fuji is thinking of getting rid of the X-A# line and just having the X-E# and X-Pro so the X-E# has to move down market. 😞...

    Fuji New Fuji camera?

I haven't really gotten into the tech details, but they removed a number of control points and the front/rear grip points. For some reason it (to me) looks a lot more like a rangefinder X-T200 than a little brother to the X-Pro.

    Fuji New Fuji camera?

Sadly as much as the X-S10 peaked my interest, the X-E4 doesn't. Well I guess my $$$ is safe for now.

    Fuji Fuji XF 27 MkII

The 27mm and 18mm pancakes were my favorite Fuji lenses, while adding an aperture ring to the 27mm is nice...... I think I'd rather an update to the 18mm. But this will still make a nice addition to the system.
  19. davidzvi

    Fuji New Fuji camera?

My only problem with the X-S10 is that for it to take the place of my E-M1.2 it would need to be weather sealed.

    Fuji Fuji XF 70-300

If I still had Fuji gear this would be very interesting to me. It could also plug one of the holes I see in the Fuji lens lineup, the gap between the 200/230mm and 400mm zooms.
  21. davidzvi

    Fuji New Fuji camera?

Agreed that there are too many. But this seems more like an X-T#0 and X-T#00 merge than X-T#0 and X-E# merge. The next one should be an X-A# and X-E# merge. If they just eliminate the X-E line than they go from the X-Pro to X-A? I have to admit this and the rumored 70-300 are interesting.

    Fuji New Fuji camera?

IBIS is one of the reason I picked the Pen F over the X-E3. An IBIS X-T4 + X-E4 might make me think.

Fuji Rumored 70-300 in the works

Accepting a TC might be a lot to ask. I know the 100-400 does, but it also has the red badge and price to go along with it.

Fuji Rumored 70-300 in the works

Constant f/4 would be pretty big I fear. Compare the Fuji 100-400 and 55-200 to the Pentax APS-C 60-250 f/4. A 70-300 f/4 would probably be bigger than the Pentax and pretty close in size to the Fuji 100-400.

Fuji Rumored 70-300 in the works

It's one of the main holes in the Fuji lens lineup for me. 400-500mm eq is where I'm comfortable; its something Nikon, Canon, even m4/3 all have but that Fuji X has been missing.

Fuji The great X100V discussion thread (formerly "specs leaked")

I had a TP case for my GX85. For my first Fuji X70 I had the OEM Fuji case. For my 2nd X70, my Fuji X-E3, and now my Pen F I have Gariz cases. I do like the Gariz cases I've owned better, but the GX85 (MegaGear) case wasn't too bad. The Fuji case for the X70 was also OK. My Pen F was use...

    Fuji X-T4 discussion

Olympus is keeping the E-M1 mkII in production along side the E-M1 mkIII. A noticeably less expensive option with almost the same capabilities. In both cases it may ease the pressure to lower the prices of the newer models. Less in both cases there may be some confusion, but Sony's been doing...

    Fuji X-T4 discussion

Actually I would have though it would be the other way around. Articulated screens (at least in the M4/3 world) are coveted by video shooters. If the photo-centric X-T4 is going that way than the X-H2 probably will as well.
  33. davidzvi

Fuji The great X100V discussion thread (formerly "specs leaked")

Definitely a GR APS-C competitor, personally I look at it as more a GR / Nikon A competitor than a X70 replacement / competitor because of the controls. I might have been interested if it had a tilt screen, but then @Lightmancer wouldn't have been. My lose of a camera is Bill's lose of ££. :D
  34. davidzvi

    Fuji X-T4 discussion

Or the X-H1. At least you have an alternative in the Fuji line, I wish I had an alternative in in the m4/3 world. The only m4/3 SLR style body with a tilt screen is the E-M10 series, not quite the same as the E-M1.2. For range finders I could pick the GX85/9, but since my goal was to...

    Fuji X-T4 discussion

D-Pad and J-Stick (if the pictures are correct). I guess I could actually use the D-Pad buttons for something other than AF control. IBIS? :2thumbs: Flippy screen? :shakehead: I much prefer the X-T3 screen. I'd really prefer both my E-M1.2 and Pen F just had simple tilt screens...

Fuji The great X100V discussion thread (formerly "specs leaked")

And simplicity is why the X70 appealed so much to me. The direct and dedicated controls did everything I needed except ISO, metering, and film simulations. And for those it had enough Fn buttons that I rarely even needed the Q-Menu. I guess that's why there's more than one camera :p. I think...

Without question and even when I had the wide converter I mainly left it at home. But when we went to Seattle and Portland having the wide converter and the acceptable 28mm to 35mm tele converter meant it was enough for the trip.

Fuji The great X100V discussion thread (formerly "specs leaked")

So, for those thinking about getting / planning on getting, do you have or plan on getting one of the conversion lenses? When I had my first X70 I also had the wide converter. It worked REALLY well. The only real problem was that with the X70 and older converter you had to "remember" to...

Yes the 17mm f/1.8. It I got the PL15mm it would a swap for the 17mm. The 14/20 would be for both size and 28mm eq of the X70 and 40mm eq of the Fuji 27mm.

Fuji The great X100V discussion thread (formerly "specs leaked")

If you can get by with JPegs I found the first level digital TC pretty good on the X70, worth a try on the X100V. I have the 17mm and 12-32mm when I want small on Pen F, debating about a 14mm, 15mm, or 20mm.

Fuji The great X100V discussion thread (formerly "specs leaked")

I've also seen tons of these, dump your X100 for an X-E. All I can say after owning both the X70 and X-E3 at the time is it was easier for me to sell the X-E3 than to give up the X70.

Fuji The great X100V discussion thread (formerly "specs leaked")

It is interesting. It has three of the feature that made me pick the X70 over the X100 series in the first place. I prefer a titling touch screen over a fixed screen. And I often used the X70 wide open and closeup, two areas the X70 lens out preformed the X100 series. Personally I'm more...

    Fuji Autofocus woes

I never like the thought of bursts for events, always took me too long to get through the images from events as it was. And I often saw others doing it and it seemed like a flash would go off every 3-4 shot. But I lived by AF-C.

    Fuji Autofocus woes

I tried mirrorless for events when the E-M1.1 came out (before the big FW update that REALLY helped). It was great for rehearsals, the ceremony, and details. Not so good for the reception, movement and lighting gave me headaches. So I reversed direction and decided to stay with my Nikon gear...
