    L-Mount A more gear-orientated L-mount place?

I have one (and an S1R and S5). The S5ii is a very good camera.

    L-Mount A more gear-orientated L-mount place?

There will be an S1 mk II coming soon. Probably with the 60Mp sensor from the SL3, and maybe a video oriented body with anew 36Mp sensor with fast readout.

    L-Mount A more gear-orientated L-mount place?

I love Cameraderie, esp as a place to post images. But if you're looking for L-mount gear talk, it's a bit quiet. If you think the same and want somewhere to chat about Panasonic, Sigma, and Leica L-mount gear, I'd recommend this site: https://l-mount-forum.com/community/ It's run by an...

    Leica Leica SL3

I must say Iā€™ve decided that 196Mp pixel shift hi res images from the S1R are a bit pointless. Not only are the files huge and slow the PP down significantly, but the extra detail really isnā€™t that useful - partly because lens limitations mean that the amount of real extra detail is limited...

    Leica Leica SL3

I didn't pick that up in the reviews I read. As you say, an odd omission. Maybe the final firmware will add it. It seems the current one is pre-release and has some limitations; I noticed some reviewers commenting on super-long viewfinder blackout after a shot is taken and about the lack of a...

    Leica Leica SL3

Having done some more reading of reviews on the SL3, I think it's the first Leica camera that I could be tempted to buy. I doubt I will, but it seems to me that they've done a fantastic job on it. The IQ is really amazing from it and I just love the redesigned UI (based on relatively limited...

    Leica Leica SL3

Do you find the AF in the SL2 not good enough for your sort of photography? I do mostly landscapes/cityscapes so practically everything I photograph is nailed to the perch, so fancy AF is of no interest to me; but I got the impression that the DFD technology of the SL cameras was good enough...

    Leica Leica SL3

@christilou - do you think you'll be upgrading to the SL3? It looks an excellent camera. I like the third dial and the new UI it has. I'm not so wild about the single-axis tilt screen (I love the dual axis tilt on the S1R - it gets a lot of use in portrait orientation on the tripod), nor the...

    Leica Leica SL3

The SL3 looks really nice, but too expensive for my taste. However, the images from it look really excellent. About the best Iā€™ve seen short of Fuji GFX (MF). You can download sample raw from this review: https://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/leica_sl3_review Iā€™m really hoping the sensor...

L-Mount Ā£1000+ off Panasonic S5 II bundle deals with MPB (UK only) - until 25/03/24

That's quite a deal. Panasonic are really pushing the S5ii. I guess they need to do something to crack the Sony/Canon/Nikon dominance. But the S5ii is a really good camera, and Panasonic S lenses are all really good too. You can now get the S5ii with 20-60 + 35/1.8 + 85/1.8 for Ā£1800...

    L-Mount L-mount pictures, open thread

Wow! Thatā€™s crazy. I just hope that Panasonic come out with a hi res high-end body of their own (i.e. an S1ii R). But I have a slight concern that theyā€™ll go down a similar path with the S1ii as they did with the S5ii by making a ā€œbaseā€ version and an X version; and both having the same ~36Mp...

I suspect we'll see the S1 mark ii within Q1 2024. Lots of rumours out there, but I would hope for an S1ii and an S1iiR, but who knows. I have a strong suspicion that Panasonic will go with a single sensor approach with the S1ii - with a "base" model and a higher-spec video "X" version, as...
