My workplace is surrounded by undeveloped land and these (at least I think they are) thistles are everywhere right now, and I was drawn to them for the gnarly green, spiky stems and stalks with this crazy magenta bloom. All X-S1, late afternoon indirect light.

These wildflowers came up in the yard yesterday; I'm hating to have to get out the lawnmower and mow them down . . . . X-S1, macro around 135mm.

Fortunately, this was from a local hotel (indoors) and shot with the X10, handheld, no ND's. No tripod or long exposure issues, but I did lean WAY out over a rail . . . .
