Urban Photo Race Amsterdam 2017 (image heavy)

Thought to share a set of images from Saturday's Urban Photo Race in Amsterdam. It was yet another inspiring event with more than 100 participants and nice weather. I'll share some impressions in various posts in this thread. First one, inspired by - but not as good as - Pete's cyclist photos:

    Urban Photo Race Rotterdam 2017

I was looking through "theme" eyes, which makes it very interesting to me (as said, never thought it would). You won't regret going to the UPR Amsterdam! If you decide to do so, let me know. It would be great to meet!

    Urban Photo Race Rotterdam 2017

It is a rather relaxed race although you have to be at a checkpoint between a specific time frame to qualify. A professional jury assesses and selects winning photos per theme.

    Urban Photo Race Rotterdam 2017

I participated in the first Urban Photo Race in Rotterdam. I did not have a clue what to expect and wasn't really prepared (forgot to bring a notebook and chargers (as you have to use your phone to navigate)). It is really a fun activity that challenges your creativity! You get six themes and...

The Goodwood Member Meeting or the passion for Historic Motor Sports (be aware: lots of photos)

the atmosphere is also quite different. The F1 is surrounded by secrecy. That secrecy is not about the engines used (everyone uses more or less the same ones) but in everything else: tire pressure, etc. Every minute of a driver's time is booked from the time they arrive for a race to the time...

The Goodwood Member Meeting or the passion for Historic Motor Sports (be aware: lots of photos)

There is probably no other country than England that is able to combine class, cameraderie en community in one event in a relaxed and friendly setting. From 1949 to 1966, Goodwood Members’ Meetings were run more than once a year over the 3.8-km circuit at Goodwood House, the estate of Lord...

Indeed, very good stuff. Did you ask permission for the portraits first? They look very candid/spontaneous, do I ondered.

Street - London Brick Lane & Environs

#1 is hilarious. And isn't fun to see all those people with phones in their hand and constantly monitoring if they have a message? What I also like that you shot on face level. That makes it more intimate. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

In the style of Grand Central Station:

Beautiful work. Just a question, Pete: did you try 3! with more contrast, perhaps even in Noir style? Just wonder how that wiil look.

Thanks for letting me know. There seems to be something weird going on at Zenfolio, because I see several grey boxes instead of the photos. I will check again in an one or two hours and if it does not work, upload and post again. Hopefully I still know what the photos were. Frankly, I didn't...

    Stroll People in Manhattan

I processed everything in Silver Efex with film noir 3 preset. Filters and adjustments, depending on result. The first one is preset only. The effect is the result of the lights at Times Square. Stroll People in Manhattan

I was in NYC last week for a conference and some time off. Had the Fuji X100T with me. I wanted to shoot a series about people in square format an in a Noir style while strolling through the streets of Manhattan. So nothing planned. I must admit that I missed some potentially interesting shots...

    Stroll Waiting for...

The fascinating thing for me were the long lines and the presence of media. I am not used that people get up early and waits hours to get a book signed. I decided to choose black and white to visualize... Well, I leave that up to everyone's imagination and opinions.

    Stroll Cranberries

What I intended to say: I will tell others how to properly make cranberry jelly! But perhaps I could add some preparation tasks: start with 10.000 liters of water, put a lot of cranberries in, jump in the water, and take the 4 cups of cranberries out
