I was feeling a bit witty... perhaps a bit cheeky. The Scooby-Doo Daphne bobble head complete with taped mouth was used in an earlier Single In... I dig recurring themes.
I'm this old.. and I still don't like working on cars. It's always been a means to an end. That said, working on a car that one doesn't like or drive just adds to the "fun".
Where there is a will there's a way.
This prosthetic arm attachment was sitting on to of a motorcycle top box. The ball locks into a fitting on the throttle grip.
The tree in our backyard is not healthy and drops things more and more. While picking up small branch pieces today that have fellen off in recent wind events I couldn't help but notice that they look like scale versions of a tree.
Not the picture that was initially in my head, but at this late...
I just gave myself a laugh. I was watching the dog chasing a reflection thrown off of my phone screen and thought how nice it must be to be amused by a little fleck of light... meanwhile I'm sitting here watching the morning light slowly advance across the living room in a similar fashion.
Apparently the short answer to my earlier statement is that there were some monochrome sub menus that weren't readily obvious. Dynamic monochrome seems to be better.
I need to explore the GX 85's settings to remember what I forgot. Currently it's monochrme settings have a very cool (colorwise) look. The above shot with the GX 8, also in monochrme, is what I prefer.
A couple of years ago when I did a boatload of monochrme, I recall that there were two...
Well the first week is done. Work has been a bit painful in regards to the commute. In past single ins I'd typically have spots to stop by on my ride home, but with the hour and a half plus drive I've been doing for the last month and a half there's little time to stop anywhere. Weehawken NJ...
A few days ago I rescued a couple of vintage bicycles from the trash. They looked cool... After looking at them for a couple of days I realized that I really don't have the desire / time to save them.... they may serve as photo props for a short while then be dispatched...
Starlight...
Since it's April fool's, why not start off backwards, outtake first? This is the basic setup and I quite like the shapes, line, and curves. I'll need to play with it tonight for the final shot. Those boxes have hinted at the potential for fun shadow play but I'd need to completely move the setup...
Hey all. After much thought (not really), I'm going with the GX85 and my trusty banged up Sears 50mm adapted lens that I can't even thread filters onto anymore. Things have gotten quite sideways at home as of late, coupled with a very busy couple of months coming up so this single in will be...
Hey Strangers! I'm in. Setup is yet to be determined. I haven't had any new gear in a couple of years so everything is mostly a known quantity. I may pick a theme or something of that nature... we'll see.
Hey all,
Checking in to both thank and congratulate everything for participating and thanks to Matt for your behind the scenes work.
It was an interesting go for me. I struggled with the last one (SIF). On this go my mindset wasn't to get the best shots I could, but to just do the thing...
A good picture? You decide. Personally I l find it interesting and like it. Art is so darn subjective and I've had pictures that I really liked fall flat in the online world. On the flip side I've had pics that I consider throw it at the wall and see if it sticks quality some love.
I shot this setup very early in the challenge. I attempted to make it appear like a working site. Then... I left the toys to sit untouched for the month to watch the rains smooth out the sand.
Today the toys will get hosed, off the grader will go back in the basement where its been for years...
Today. A repurposed industrial gas bottle turned bell. The bottom was cut out. I couldn't resist testing it, and figured that a strike with my rubber clad Klien screwdriver handle homegrown camera grip would do the job. It had a relatively high pitch and rung out for quite a bit... lovely...
The final setup for today's shot. A couple of flashlights and the opened up actuator on an old black work sweat jacket for a black background. A yellow sticky note stuck on the left flashlight to modulate its brightness.
The Manasquan Reservoir has been a go to spot for me since I got back into photography a few years ago, yet I saw something new yesterday. With a steady wind blowing in the same direction for the last few days sand was moved and pushed to the edge in a small version of what one would see at the...
The scooter. I used the on camera flash to light the back end. To my eye it looks to be a bit too much but the old license plate was really dark without it. Live, experiment, and learn....
