    Back Again

Been a while since I've visited here, over 12 months ago in fact according to my profile. Photography has taken a bit of a back seat for the past year as family stuff and restoring an old car sort of took over things. It's nice to see some of the old names still here though, and if you'll have...

    Cornwall

Just got back from a wee trip to Cornwall for a wedding, decided to stay down there and rented a cottage on the coast and did some walking on the coastal footpath. Not sorted all the photos yet as I'm planning a trip to France for a few weeks time but here are a few I rattled off near Newquay...

    Back .........

Been away a while, sorry about that but we did Norway, which was going to be another road trip but no ferries anymore to Stavanger from the good ol' UK - and now none to Denmark either - meant a mega long drive before we even got there. Expensive scandinaviian hotels also meant a change of...

I Recommend this Nice Photo Website

I sometimes earmark websites like this, they act as inspiration for when I can't be bothered getting out of bed early enough to go catch photos like these. He's good, and that is now top of my "list" of inspirational websites, thanks for posting, ReD :2thumbs:

    Bowland

It is pniev, yet people drive within a few miles of it on their motorway dashes to more commercialised places. My gain, their loss

Nice is that, Bill I always liked Saabs, never had one but often thought about it. It was a shame about their demise but weren't they rescued by an electrics company?

    Bowland

Hi, Bill. Yes the MX5 went after our Euro trip, the power roof started making expensive noises (getting to be a more common problem). I took it into Mazda as it stil had some warranty left on it but they didn't want to know, I was just fobbed me off with "They all make that noise sir" I off...

Some still shots from a day out shooting a video over Bowland in Lancashire on Wednesday. One of the nicest parts of Lancs, and just an hours drive from here. Shot on the Oly EPL-5 with the 14-42 kit lens

    Scottish Mountains

All superb shots, doncha just love Scotland? Nobody does skies better than the Highlands. A friend recently bought an RX100 for his wife, I don't think she's touched it yet - she's not been able to get it off him. :laugh1: He bought it for a road trip to France and the photos they brought back...

It's not often seen from this angle though, taken from the opposite side of the loch from the little village of Letterfearn More Scotland phots here: http://www.dewisant-photography.net/dewi_sant_photography_landscape_Scotland_index.htm

    Eilean Donan

To be honest, as picturesque as it is, Eilean Donan is so much photographed now that it's become a bit of a Scottish cliche' - in the same vein as the Forth Rail Bridge. Those with more sense head on up from there over Wester Ross to Ullapool and go via the Applecross road - that's the real...

    France Roadtrip

France is easy to photograph, Bill. It's a long time since we'd visited some of those places and glad we've had the opportunity top go back. France has something about it that is very appealing, but you'd know that right? I may have to go back and take the DSLR.

    France Roadtrip

Finally, I got around to getting all my photos on the website / blog thingy. It's easier to post the link than put all the shots on here - some are mediocre some are ok. The little Olympus took up far less space in the car but it has to be said I did miss the DSLR. I'd take the Oly again but...

    Finally found wi-fi

Why do hotels advertise that they have wi-fi, when invariably you get there and either they don't..... or it's, "Sorry, it's broken"? Anyway, we have landed at our gite in the Dordogne area of France and it does indeed have a good connection. so here are a few shots taken over the last 6 days...

    Show Bridges

It's a long time since I've been there, Barrie. Another clapper bridge can be found at the village of Wycoller in Lancashire, although this one does require a bit more effort to get to see as no cars are allowed to park in the village. They have to be left at the top and you hike down - not an...

    Landscapes of Algarve, Portugal

I love Portugal, I've had the pleasure of doing a couple of roadtrips there. I must admit though that I do like the more mountainous areas of the north and Porto is one of my all time favourite cities. Lovely photos, I really like the sunsets  Quick shot of somewhere in northern...

    Black and White - Villages

I popped down to Hereford last week for a few days to see an old friend who lives in a small village just outside the city. Like me he's retired so I often go down there, or he comes up here and we mostly end up eating curry and drinking (far too much) beer, but we also take days out to...

I know exactly what you mean. Bill. We're just outside Wigan here and will forever be in Lancashire despite them telling us our post code is now a soulless Greater Manchester. Lathom Locks

Yes, Bill - the UK is well known for it's sunny climes  It's nice to see bit of it even if only for a short while. The big problem this time of year of course is not only the strength of the sun under the recent clear blue skies, but how low it is in the sky at this time of year...

    Lathom Locks

No, just me getting used to a new camera / lenses that I've not really used outdoors before to any great extent, Robin so I'm still getting to grips with the metering on it. So, today has been a bit sub-tropical in Lancashire - we've had temperatures of 12 deg no less and beautiful bright sunshine, so all DIYing now done for the moment out came the car & in went the E-PL5 and the lenses I've been collecting for the past few weeks. Sleepover in Casnewydd

See now, if I try taking photos like that they end up looking like nothing even remotely coherent or interesting. It's a skill is that, taking photos of the mundane and making them look like something special. Lovely set of photos ReD........ No, lovely 'interesting' set of photos.

Not sure if you know of this place or not, BB? Lake Louise is situalted north west of Banff in Alberta, just near the start of the Icefilelds Parkway. We rode out there on hired motorbikes from Vancouver looking forward to the peace and tranquility of the place, based on photos we'd seen of...

    Scenes from the tidal zone

Nice shots, I sometimes wish we lived nearer the coast but after the recent weather here in the UK I'm actually glad we don't.
