On Sunday I had a very rare chance to see a meteorological phenomenon I have only seen (and noticed) a handful of times in my life where clouds become so dense they look like mountains and are surrounded by a lack of OR very few spread thin clouds, making them stand out even more. I've seen it...
“Then is fulfilled Hlín's
second sorrow,
when Óðinn goes
to fight with the wolf,
and Beli's slayer,
bright, against Surtr.
Then shall Frigg's
sweet friend fall.”
From Völuspá, the Norse mythology of Fenrir, the wolf that eat the sun in Ragnarök
I am so happy and proud of this one, the feeling of A World upon the Wings ... I was advised by a friend to try a different composition and I will try BUT I love this one because it's about the moon being the center of the sky, big and bright, and the bird just caressing the bottom of it is the...
On a doggie walk a few hours ago I chanced upon a very interesting moon moment, I noticed a large flock of crows were very agitated above the tree line, flying in and out against the background of a beautiful full moon rising above a pink line of clouds burnt but the sunset behind me and the...
The kind of weather we have been having for a week now, clouds rolling so fast and so low you would think there's Fomorians on the other side of the hill smoking Petersons Pipes. I exposed for the bright clouds to keep the entire and details on the twisting and dissolving filaments of water...
So effectively 2000mm? I'm guessing it's not cropped given such high magnification.
Maybe adding the 1.4x TC on top will let you see the Moonmen riding the Apollo Spacerover and graffiti-ing the Moonlander. :P
Why is Somerset always such a drama?
Rolling rolling rolling.
Over the hills we are coming.
Clouds and storms be trolling.
Winter in Somerset be cometh.
Overenthusiastic Christmas fan? It took 6 images at 12mm stitched together to be able to fit all of th decorations from the sidewalk.
From the other side of a single lane road on the sidewalk. Less distortion but can't see some of th decorations hiding behind the fence. I love Christmas (not...
I think this is my first attempt to photograph Jupiter in quite a long time. I can almost see the brown bands on it. It was painfully difficult to get the focus right and hand held.
Had a pretty good weather and conditions for some moon shots last night.
Not full moon but pretty mesmerising, easy to get lost in exploring those canyons and craters.
240 MegaPickleRicks of 180° view on our daily doggie walk paths. (Vertically shot in 3 rows, one on the horizon, one bellow and one above with about 25-33% overlap)
300 MP square panorama. I wanted to get more DoF with a focus on the little bridge, so I shot about 6 shots vertically and 3 columns at f 2.8, I did use a polariser to cut down the glare a bit.
I wanted to give it a try and use my tripod for landscape images, to practice using filters for upcoming autumn. I've only recently got my Lee Sev5n system and I haven't used much PL and ND filters before. and this is the first system I ever had.
I have a few small "waterfalls" in my area I...
Finally got the perfect shot of an extreme contrast sunset. Took 5 shots and 3 EV exposure brackets and, to my surprise, the guy just below the sun is perfectly sharp and exposed even though I never took notice he was there until I edited the HDR image.
The Brits really know how to come up with strange names for their Towns and villages. I think Superman would approve though, like the British version of Smallville.
I really hope Satan answered his phone call, the kid spent a lot of time dialling that phone number.
Where's my clowns at?
I mean if they can bath in public then I can't I? ... I can belly flop if the water is not deep enough.
New rule: you can order only if you get sprayed first.
I did...
This Church was very imposing on the landscape on the east side of Weston-Super-Mare ... I wish I had gone up there to see it.
In the far distance is the other side of the Bristol Channel ... and where the ocean went for a break from humanity.
A very large panorama because 28mm was just...
Went to the Photography Show on the 20th June 2023 at Weston-Super-Mare and it was my first time there.
A lot of very interesting architecture and a mix of old and new buildings.
The palm trees reminded me of my time living in Sicily and how much I miss living near the coast.
A very...
