For those of us who have cameras full spectrum converted (recording visible & IR) an H-alpha can be fitted to the lens (considerably cheaper than another conversion) but the hot mirror in standard cameras generally blocks nearly all the H-alpha, adding a filter to the front doesn't do anything...

I seem to remember exposure in a single exposure is very tricky whatever the magnification. Jupiter itself is MUCH brighter than it's moons, anything that gets the planet right won't see the moons. The result I got through my celestron was fairly similar to yours just with the moons arranged...

There's no light house at the Walton near here (UK) We do get the cliffs & a shot tower, but it's very rare to get lovely blue seas like that so it just can't compete ;)

Well the pterosaur head jumped out at me almost instantly, but with a bit more looking I saw 2 good human faces as well (smaller & below the first).

I guess Americans have a different perspective of old, My house is probably around twice as old as that yet I don't think of it as old.

It was actually being built the last time I walked along that part of the Thames (makes me feel old). Most of those international tourists would have also seen the Tower of London which is about 900 years old IIRC so perhaps we can let them off. :)

Thankyou! I was lucky to have the chance to go home, grab my camera and long lenses, yet still have the fog bank remain. In my experience such views are not only fairly rare but also usually only seen when there's no chance of stopping... The other two shots you refer to both seem to benefit...
