    B&W Landscapes in B&W

These are really nice! I've been playing with more b/w and duotone b/w lately myself. Like these a lot.

I'd like to see larger thumbnails posted? But nice work regardless. The Monochrom is one cool camera though outside my budget.

    An American Original

It's a "creative choice" I made to wildly enhance the blue contrast in the photo to pull it out. I discovered that look by accident when I "went too far" with an adjustment, but I liked what it looked like and went with it. Sometimes, a "flaw" in an image can be exploited -- and sometimes it...

    An American Original

Thanks! With regard to the sky: that sort of thing is inherent in the compression of jpg compression and is usually "underneath" any threshold of visibility -- but in this case I ENHANCED it rather than suppressed it. I like the way it almost looks like convection distortion above the...

    Approaching Mordor by Moonlight

Those are lovely! I wasn't even going for stars here, they were a bonus. In fact, with the slightly hazy sky they weren't even very visible and there are more in this photo than I could easily see with my eye which I think makes your point also.

    Approaching Mordor by Moonlight

Thank you again! Posting things across the two boards might in fact generate confusion. I do it because not everyone there is a member here and vice versa -- but it appears many sure are... and of course I am, lol.

    Approaching Mordor by Moonlight

First, thanks all for the encouragement on my experiment! Much obliged. Nathan, I was at a rural intersection where there is a single street light at the intersection and it was casting a sickly yellow-green light on the grass that I tried and tried to use in a color shot and just couldn't...

Characters from the agricultural show (people at work)

We are all free as artists to advance an image of how we feel about the image, or an attitude or mood we want to convey with it -- and these are in addition to or alternative to the "presentation of reality". Almost all of our photographs start obviously as an observation of reality, but then...

I like the positively metallic look of some of these. Hope you print some large on glossy paper as they are going to look stunning.
