Lovely cameras, I recall it defaults to 1/500th without the battery. I made my own adapter at the time with some 4LR44 battery, some tubing and a spring. The GSN at last has a bridging circuit that can handle differences in voltage. Now I have one of those commercially made adapters for it...

That's a shame. Not that they are particularly expensive these days should you want to replace it, the Argus C-3 cameras at least. In its day they were still worth a good chunk of monthly wages for an average family, yet cheaper than the Kodak 35. I wish my family had an heirloom camera like...

Thanks John, If anything servicing the little ones gives me good practice for the more expensive ones. I've only lost one (post-war) Argus C-3 from this collection so far. 35mm For the Proletariat! One freshly CLA'd Argus AF, the focusing ring is not visible with the lens collapsed, of course. It only needed a little help to get the shutter going again. Some old hardened grease here and there. And the lens elements were a little hazy.

It was in a poor state when I picked it up. The lens and the brilliant finder were unusable due to the dust inside them. It all cleaned up pretty well though. Everyone appreciates Leicas :P My shooter last weekend, a Leica M3 DS with a 50mm f/3.5 Elmar in M-mount. The negatives showed a little shutter banding on the high speeds, so I added a bit of extra tension to the curtain roller springs. Will need to play with it again soon.
