    Selling your work online

Thanks for your question Bart, here's his response (I really wish he'd make and account here and answer all this himself, I know he is following this thread) " You can keep unto 10 images and switch out existing images with new ones. Each image is not evaluated. The Artist is evaluated on a...

    Selling your work online

Thanks ever so much for your responses/queries. All great questions. I forwarded the link to my friend and this is his response - " This is probably the first, or at least one of a very few curated Online Galleries that cater to Photography only. With other large Galleries, photography is one...

    Selling your work online

A dear friend has started an online art gallery with the intent of curating photographs and have photographers reach out to a discerning audience. The artist is responsible for pricing his/her own art, printing on archival paper, and delivering it to the patron and retains complete creative...

"Closing Our Browsers" (on the impending death of browsing)

Luke. the more I think about your store, the more I feel that you shouldn't rally against the online selling space. In fact I think that it's the best thing to happen to your store. Instead of targeting more customers, you should probably recognize that you're operating in a niche "luxury"...

"Closing Our Browsers" (on the impending death of browsing)

I came across a brilliant counterpoint to Luke's article, especially as it relates to the music industry. The business of music has never been healthier. The artists are finally able to directly retail to their audience, targeting smaller niches that were poorly served by big music labels. One...

Best camera / focal length for street photography - your help needed.

Used to be 35mm, then I bought the GR and I started loving the 28mm and now I bought the wide angle adapter so now it's at 21mm. I should really look at taking the adapter off sometime.

    Distance

One or two pictures get edited immediately as soon as I get back home and look through the day's work. This is a quick gut reaction, and tends to be the best ones I've shot. But I get back to the rest after at least 24 hours or more. Sometimes even a week or a month. Nowadays I'm forcing myself...

    what's your taste in Music?

I'm sure you've come across Sigur Rós if you've seen any modern independent movies in the last 5 years. Makes for intense background scores, usually used in closing credits. I possibly posted an extreme example of their work. But I'd agree that their stuff is a bit of an acquired taste.

    what's your taste in Music?

Right now I've listened to this song about 6000 times. This bloke (kutiman) finds various musicians on youtube and then splices their tracks to create new songs. This is the best time in human history for making/creating/sharing music. The power is back with the people, wrested away from...

    The Apple Watch - wow

I have a bunch of Apple stuff, though I wouldn't identify as an Apple fan-boy. I love mechanical watches and I feel we can do without another screen to power up every day. Also right now there just isn't a compelling reason to buy a smart watch, it does exactly what your phone can do, and it...

Post images of your "lounge" here

Thanks Ray, much appreciated. The problem with being in the design business is that it makes one a bit less sentimental about spaces. It's always the last thing one does that holds one's attention. I'll still own this space, but will let it out 'as is' and hope that someone else will enjoy and...

I watched The Wire a few years ago. All five seasons. Binge watched it all strung together. A most fascinating example of what can be achieved in long form story telling. Any hobbies besides of photography?

I wouldn't call it a "hobby", but the only other thing I'm obsessed with apart from photography is coffee. In fact my 'retirement' plan is to open a coffee shop that sells obscure photography gear, which would also double up as an art gallery. I'd die poor, but I'd die happy.
