The Fantastic Cavalcade of Cinematic Splendor (a.k.a. What are you watching?)

If you haven't seen it yet, maybe you could try Katla: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11102190/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 A bit different take on regular Nordic noir, adding a layer of strange to the usual crime baseline.

What books are you reading for pleasure these days?

I might try to get my hands on that story of Anton Chekov's niece when I finish Umberto Eco's "The Prague Cemetery". After a somewhat confusing start, I'm enjoying it quite a bit now.

@JensM Have you read Rory Stewart's "The places in between"? Might be right up your alley. P. S. Yeah, you guessed right, it's more walking through Afghanistan :-) There is a two-part documentary on YT "Afghanistan The Great Game - A Personal View by Rory Stewart" that inspired me to get the book.

What books are you reading for pleasure these days?

I'm currently enjoying discovering in detail the history, art, intrigues and overall incredible circumstances of unique city of Venice, beautifully told by Peter Ackroyd. Gives me the itch to re-visit that special place, once travelling is normal again.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Tony Horwitz's "A Voyage Long and Strange : Rediscovering the New World", a fine example of investigative journalism, travelogue and humane prose rolled into one : Publisher's blurb : On a chance visit to Plymouth Rock, Tony Horwitz realizes he's mislaid more than a...

What do you do for a living? AKA, how do you finance your gear? :)

Actually I'm usually hired by the editors to illustrate the scripts they obtained already from scriptwriters. But I also did my own, both writing and drawing, as well as collaborations with friends/writers when we developed projects together to propose them to publishers.

Of course, thanks for asking :-) Here is the link to a gallery of some of my illustrations on my site: https://pictogramax.rs/illustration/ You can browse the comics as well, although under the category BD (bande dessiné stands for comics in French) or by their respective titles.

What do you do for a living? AKA, how do you finance your gear? :)

I draw comics. That puts me on a very similar roller coaster Miguel rides, but a bit crazier and less successful and respected. I also draw and paint illustrations for a French gallery, which in theory could finance my GAS, but is not really regular. So I always shoot with older second-hand...

What books are you reading for pleasure these days?

I recently finished "Une année folle" (A Crazy Year) by Sylvie Yvert and I liked it a lot. I bought it last summer in Paris, but, by chance (or by premonition?) started reading it just a few days before the lock-down. Even if it's about Napoleon's come-back after his abdication, the battle of...
