Sorry about the triggering, pretty awful of course but thankfully (at least from the outside looking in), that granddaughter of yours will always always be a hell of a distraction from that.

    Health Matters

Ah, the dreaded sinus cold and the feeling of set cement blocking the nasal passage preventing proper breathing and certainly preventing sleep, causing headaches all along. Never suffered it to that extent before the last fun week so if that's been you, you have my sympathies. This was no...

Murphy's Law (no rants, just tales)

Isn't it funny, I slipped once and fell over in the city. I looked up from the floor to see where everything landed and the first thing I noticed was that the camera was still in my hand, in fact it never left my hand through this process. Iā€™m convinced itā€™s an instinctive thing.

    Reset your camera clock

Was out taking some pictures today. No, I hadn't reset the bleedin' camera:mad:. And to think, I 'liked' Charles' post within 20 minutes of him posting it.

What books are you reading for pleasure these days?

Terribly unfortunate history and circumstances with that country but a very informative read for one looking at the country from a clean slate.

    How's weather at your place?

I understood that wasn't uncommon in your part of the world, isn't it a bit tropical there from time to time? I heard there were even palm trees the further west you go (not joking).

POTN is Closing - Welcome POTN'ers curious about Cameraderie

Momentarily veering off topic for a moment, I'd say Geoff Boycott could be quite odious as a person at times, but you could never fault his commentating and what always made it funny was that the team he usually used to castigate in that special way of his always seemed to be England. Ok, back...

    It's October - Let's Talk Favorite Scary Movies/TV Shows

Does that qualify? The comedy is just too funny. Wonderful film though. In the first film, the second our baddie takes the mask off, it's a comedy (you know what I'm saying šŸ˜… ). The warning sign for that is there with that high five between the two protagonists in the first 10 minutes (again...

    It's October - Let's Talk Favorite Scary Movies/TV Shows

Zombie Flesh Eaters - just sheer terror. Alien - the first and best. American Warewolf in London - the most polished out of all of them on this list. Honourable mentions to go The Omen, The Evil Dead and Nightmare on Elm Street 3. These were first seen with my schoolmates (and still my mates)...

    Currently in the dehydrator

I put the Hanaberos/ scotch bonnets or should I say one of them in the pot when I'm braising meats or even cooking rice, but it has to be whole and never cut up or split, it'll be too overpoweringly hot otherwise.

Wey hey! Pleased it all seems to have been dealt with by the medical people so quickly, having people ask how you are 50 times a day now is a price well worth paying.

    Health Matters

Let's drill down further. It's butter really isn't it. One of the top top ingredients there is and there's no way I'm ever going to stop consuming that at any time. My policy is to enjoy it in (that dreaded word) moderation. Seems to be working for me at the moment. Psychologically I manage...

Music The Amazing Emporium of Wondrous Tunes (aka: What are you listening to?)

That reminds me of the 80s in the UK, when one had to basically take out a mortgage to buy Japanese jazz LPs on import as they were never released here. Which I had to fund from pocket money/ weekend jobs.

How are you handling the living costs (early 2023)?

I've seen a number of food banks. Let's put aside for a moment the fact that they should have to exist at all (and that I have seen office workers queing through neccesity as their wages don't pay enough). I have been mightily impressed with the standard of fresh produce available.

Wonderful times. Blondie was massive in the UK at the time. Never streamlined (case in point, Rapture) and there were a number of similar bands from the same area such as Polyrock, etc. It's still a fascinating place of course, but what you say about New York then and now is so true.
