Somehow, I've resisted thus far! The "legacy" elements of the game are designed to reward the same group of people playing the game over and over. As an example, the winner of a game may found a city which provides a bonus in future games only to that player, and the winner of multiple games...

I spent the weekend hanging out with friends playing board games, so my first image of the year was a mobile one. This was a rather surprising discovery at the very bottom of the box for Risk Legacy.

I think that's a good sign! I noted the same thing about my three: one with the GR IIIx, one with the KP, and one with the K1000 and 50/1.8. I was pleased with the variety in technology and medium.

Okay, after a brief and not comprehensive scan of my stuff from 2021, here's my 3.

Can I just take a picture of the sides of my whiskers? They seem much whiter than they used to be...

Well it's too bad most of us didn't get to this one, but Miguel's entry was a well-deserved win anyhow! I think we could do with a permanent thread on consumerism, actually!

Pixel 3a shot from today processed in Snapseed. I've noticed the Pixel's jpegs don't take well to Snapseed's sharpening or structure tool, as they're already sharpened up. But the look I think feels "small sensor" in a way, often I think the images end up oversharpened to get rid of detail loss.

I'll close out with this phone shot which I took a couple days ago, and meant to post, but didn't get around to creating any kind of lo-fi edit till now. I tried a grainy, rough film take in Snapseed, and it turned out pretty well, I think. The app has good B&W controls. I enjoyed this...

Waiting for a downpour to let up before running into a restaurant. All that running water makes for an impressionist look.

Occasionally I figure they need a little extra saturation and contrast, depending on how the light at the time is, and how the plastic lens elements respond to it. These ones got a tiny bump in Snapseed, but really very minor. The Lomography lenses produce some really great colors.

Playing catch-up from the last few days, back to the GF3/Lomography lens.

I misplaced the SD card I have been using for the GF3 for a few days. I know where it is, now, but now the battery needs charging. So I decided to try a couple with my phone, using VSCO and just cranking the fake vintage vibe all the way up. But these are still way too nice to be called lo-fi...
