I’ve moved on (Lumix GX9). In addtion to the dust issue, the control for the focal length, at the base of the shutter relase, was not working reliably. It could have been electrical (but everything else worked well) or perhaps dust in the lens extension mechanism. As a bonus, the two batteries I...
I bought my LX100 in 2015. I had diligently cleaned the lens barrel before closing the camera. Also, I reasoned that dust could enter the body when the lens was extended via a vacuum effect, so I carefully examined the lens barrel before turning on the camera. All of this worked well; for up to...
Goodbye LX100. I loved this camera for its controls, picture quality (jpegs) and versatility. It was dust on the sensor that did it in. I had contemplated getting the LX100M2 but when the dust levels in the LX100 became too much to clean-up or ignore I decided to go to an interchangeable lens...
We recently returned from a trip to Croatia and Slovenia with brief visits to other countries. Lake Bled in Slovenia is a picture perfect setting, almost Disney-esque. Here is a picture of the castle with low lying clouds.

Early Spring in Bois de Liesse. Most of our urban snow has melted but in the woods the ground is snow/ice covered with pools of runoff partially frozen from the overnight dip below 0℃.

Back to "Butterflies in Flight” at the Canadian Museum of Nature, one of my grandchildren’s favourite outings. In this small, warm and humid environment, hundreds of butterflies fly about and alight on anything, including people.

Most years we head to the beach, usually Wells Beach in Maine. If we didn’t get there in the summer we go for a few days in the fall and we’re rewarded with tranquility and beauty, even if it is inclement.
Before denigrating the ‘user’ attachment perhaps you could explore/experiment a little more. Have you tried the various settings in “Photo Style” (which can be selected only in “No Filter mode and not iA)? Have you played with the various Filters?
I found when I started using the camera I often...
It’s very early Spring (especially in our shaded front flower garden) in the Montreal area. After a little snow raking these crocuses were revealed. They’re always a delight.

We took our grandchildren to Butterflies in Flight at the Canadian Nature Museum. Most of my pictures are of butterflies on the kids, much to their collective delight. Here is a sample of these delicately beautiful insects.

SSDS: Same Scene Different Season.
I took this shot last May while strolling in a park near home.
Today,
also on a (brisk) stroll with the temperature at -12 C, and wind chill at -23 C, I pulled off my gloves and grabbed this shot. My hands felt frozen within seconds.
A recent trip to Wells Beach, ME. I guess I like sunset/twilight scenes . . .

Hopewell Rocks, in New Brunswick, are eroded by Bay of Fundy tides. Recently one of these formations collapsed. The second picture shows how the structures comprise an agglomeration of rocks and sand. Eventually entropy wins!

The Canada 150 tulip was cultivated to simulate the maple leaf on the Canadian flag to honour our 150th anniversary as a nation.

Spring arrives! The snow is gone and the crocuses are the first flowers to poke through the frigid ground. Note the spider enjoying the experience.

We’re having an early spring snowfall and once again Mighty Dorothy is being coated with snow. Here’s a shot with the Impressive Art filter, late afternoon low light (ISO 200, f1.7, 1/60)
When I read your comment it evoked a question to myself, "What do I have a thing for?" Looking back at what I've posted here and Flickr the answer seems to be trees. Indeed, I am attracted to trees.
But, these postings are a small sample of my photography. Most of my current pictures are of my...
These are great pictures. Selective focus, especially with foreground objects can only be done manually or by changing the focus point. Which one did you use?
After a few days of heavy snow it finally looks like winter. Our stroll in Gatineau Park was rewarded by serenity and beautiful scenery.

It's not an activity that I have ever engaged in, but ice fishing is very popular in many parts of Canada. This picture was taken on a very mild day and the air was filled with the sound of cracking ice further out on the river.

Whenever I visit the Aviation museum in Ottawa I am reminded of the young men who vanquished and/or perished flying the Lancaster bombers in WWII. The age range of most crew members was between 18 and 25 years old. This was and is an awesome machine.

Focus Peaking also works in Auto Focus mode when the shutter pressed half-way. The LX100 lens allows for great control of depth of field, and, with Focus Peaking, control over the focus point. So, for example, when I take a picture of a tree trunk beyond the closest branches I can focus...
