Lovely shots - but I don't quite get why you didn't use our existing Beach/Ocean thread: https://cameraderie.org/threads/beach-ocean-lets-see-yours.17214/ If you like to keep things separate, I'll not insist - if I am to merge your post into the existing thread, just say the word ... (though I...

Micro 4/3 Showcase Olympus 14-150 f4-5.6 II ED Lens

I liked that lens when I had it - it was a mainstay on my OM-D E-M10. It shines at the long end at close quarters, but it's also a wonderful holiday lens. (untitled) on Flickr (untitled) on Flickr (untitled) on Flickr (untitled) on Flickr M. P.S. Today, I'd do a bit more with these...

Micro 4/3 Showcase OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm f/1.4 PRO

The optical improvements in the 25mm f/1.4 II aren't major - and I think we can safely say that I was right in assmuing the Olympus 20mm f/1.4 PRO would be the better lens - we agreed on that! My own assessment (that the 25mm f/1.4 II is sufficient for my own needs) hasn't changed, but I'm...

Micro 4/3 Showcase SIGMA 56mm F1.4 DC DN

I don't think it's that hard to understand; I had the 30mm f/2.8 and liked it quite a bit, but it still felt somewhat limiting - that's why I got the Olympus 25mm f/1.8 that more or less replaced the 30mm f/2.8. But when the 30mm f/1.4 came along, I had to try it - and it's one of my overall...

Micro 4/3 Showcase SIGMA 56mm F1.4 DC DN

Wow. This lens truely outdoes its 30mm sibling ... I'm happy enough with the older 60mm f/2.8, but this is a very nice performance re sharpness, transitions and bokeh ... And of course, great shot to show all this. M.

Micro 4/3 Showcase Panasonic 12-32 f/3.5-5.6 Mega OIS

The little warrior is still very capable - I'm almost getting nostalgic (this lens was my mainstay on the Olympus E-PM1, a camera I loved dearly until I accidentally smashed it) ... M.

Micro 4/3 Showcase Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT

I own the Samyang and the Laowa. *Very* different shooting experience, both very nice in their own way. The Laowa is much more versatile, of course (it's faster and, as stated, rectilinear). M.

Micro 4/3 Showcase Panasonic LX100 I/II picture thread

I like the output from the LX100, but low ISO is not its forte - not because of the crop, but because of the strong chroma noise Panasonic 16MP sensors generally exhibit (the 12MP sensors were even worse). But guess what - you can use ISO 800 without too much of a penalty, and if you can...

Micro 4/3 Showcase Panasonic LX100 I/II picture thread

As I said: Up to ISO 800, it's fine (taken on the same evening as "glorious sunset II" above): window dusk on Flickr I don't use it above that. And yes, :mu43: can go higher with comparative ease (not a spectacular shot, just good low light performance): a night's work on Flickr As long as...

Micro 4/3 Showcase Panasonic LX100 I/II picture thread

I don't know about 2 to 2.5 stops - in my view, it's more like 1.5 stops, but I think that's highly subjective; I can live with a bit of noise as long as it doesn't eat up all the detail. While the images from the LX100 are indeed a bit grainy and coarse compared to 16MP :mu43:, that's only to...

Micro 4/3 Showcase Panasonic LX100 I/II picture thread

I'd have to look through the collection, so I don't promise anything, but just as a preliminary statement, I will say that I've decided to limit ISO on this camera to 800 - because it's visibly worse than my E-M10 at 1600; I don't even know if I've actually kept any of my earlier high ISO files...

Micro 4/3 Showcase Panasonic LX100 I/II picture thread

If I treat the LX100 like formerly the E-PM1, i.e. stay below ISO 800 if at all possible, noise results are actually a bit better than with the older 12MP sensor ... And yes, very nice sky colours. M.
