I just purchased the Olympus EE-1 Dot Sight. It connects to the hot shoe and there is a pin so that it registers with the camera (OM-1). It has its own internal battery, so I don't think it's drawing power from the camera and my OM-1 battery held up fine. I didn't notice any additional drain...
