Some of the first shots off my new M10-P with this lens. SOOC. First shot was rotated slightly to get it level. Wide open.
It should be noted, although this lens shipped with the usual screw and chart for making adjustments, absolutely none were needed.

As some are probably aware, I recently picked up an X-T1 , largely to try out the X-T series and see if I enjoyed it. Partly because money is tight, and partly because the idea of going full retro appealed with a "retro" body, my first (and currently only) X mount lens is the TTArtisan 35mm...
So I just received the brand new lens today, and am testing it around the house.
Here are my first impressions and thoughts, in no particular order-
Great build quality
Focus is smooth and enjoyable to use
Aperture ring is nice, but oddly stepped and skips over things like f11...
I've only had a chance to shoot a little around the house. Hoping to get some shooting time in over the holiday weekend. So far, the 18mm 1.4 lives up to all of the hype and praise from the reviews.
Ever the consummate professional model
Of course there had to be chickens
I'm not going to reiterate everything that's already been said and written online, but suffice to say that I already somewhat liked the first version enough to want to try the "improved" second version. I've had them both for a couple of months now and feel I can sum things up to maybe allow...
Just received this lens from the lovely people at Reddotcameras, London. I've bought it mainly for portrait and still life but took it for a walk on my original T this morning.
Have to say mixed results. I've never had such a poor hit rate for focus using native Leica lenses. But when it's on...
New TTartisan 50mm f/1.4 lens for Leica M-mount to be announced on Friday (pre-orders now open) - Leica Rumors
I was looking at the TTArtisan 50mm f/.95 or re-buying the 7Artisan 50mm f/1.1, but this looks like it hits the sweet spot of performance, size and price (retailing for $370 USD)...
Apart from the 7a lens being too big (it probably shows in the viewfinder quite a bit), things are looking excellent for value-oriented buyers.
The beast is released. 1255g of potential awesome. With a price tag matching the heavy weight. :whistling:
Seriously though, it will be interesting to see how well this thing performs.
Full announcement info can be found at the review site, the rumor site, or the Pentax forum site. The...
Slightly cropped, both taken with the 30 1.4 stopped down, lens firmware upgraded to the v03 and AF is about the same or faster than the Sony 50mm 1.8 OSS lens, which is not ideal for fast moving subjects.
To be honest I'm not sure how I tripped on this lens. But after using it for a few days I'm very glad I did. This lens retails for $119. and not unlike 7a's 25mm f1.8, ($79.), it seems to offer some very serious image quality for an exceptional price. The build quality appears to be very...
On vacation in PR this week. Brought along my X-T10 + 35mm F/1.4 combo. Added a Dicapac WP-S3 to my bag for some extra fun, shooting in water.
Here's a selection of what I've taken so far. More to come as the vacation progresses.
