This is difficult to google; what are the things that are included in film labels, other than speed?
White balance? But no online text I found summarises up these cohesively.
Fujifilm Astia 100F, what's the F stand for?
Fujifilm Pro 160C, same thing with the C.
800Z or 400H?!
Kodak 400 VC...
we are planning on having āsocial distancing correctā Motherās Day gathering today.
There will be 8 of us total, meeting at my sister in laws garage. 6 foot and masks will be adhered to.
Beyond that, letās get to the photography question!!
If you were shooting film, which stock would you use...
I guess my interest in photography was started by looking into the windows of The Western Morning News office in Plymouth where beautifully exposed and printed monochrome photographs were displayed from recent editions of the paper.
My first purchase was a Voigtlander Bessa 1 folding rollfilm...
For some reason during this shut down , stay home, what ever I have felt the need to shoot film. My eyes are getting worse so tomorrow I will take the Minolta Maxxum 7 along . I just need to get back to basics , it always makes me feel better.
Lets see those Eterna film simulation images. Share the custom recipes if you have them!
Got this one from FujiXWeekly.com.
This is for X-Trans IV and newer sensors.

While cleaning out a cabinet during this stay home stay safe period, I found this roll of unprocessed film.
I think the local CVS or Walgreens will send it out to be processed, but I read that they no longer return the negatives. Just prints and scans!
Does anyone know if this is true...
So digging out my developing kit since I have a Nikon F90x on the way, I discovered that I still have a pair of Diafine A&B jugs mixed up. They've been in my closet several years. Anyone know if it should still work? I'll probably experiment with that first roll anyway but just thought I'd put a...
So the weather is still garbage and grey, but I went out anyway. Took the Polaroid SX-70 Sonar OneStep and the Fuji XPRO2. I figured if the Polaroid was a bust, I could take the time to test out my new Agfa APX 100 film simulation Iāve been working on.
I still have one exposure yet to run...
This is a 90 minute film by Fujifilm delving into the creation process of the X-Pro 3. As well as interviews with photographers
Eric Bouvet, Patrick La Roque, Kevin Mullins, Jonas Rask, Charlene Winfred, Megan Lewis, Rommel Bundalian, Zack Arias, and Mindy Tan.
I was watching my Sunday morning local TV programming and saw a 5 minute video about a local company that does Polaroid restoration. I thought it might appeal to any instant photography fans...
I've seen a safelight for sale and I'm interested in it for a lab.
I've seen these in use in tv shows & films but the description on Wikipedia is a little vague - references their use in the development process but it seems to focus a little more on developing prints.
Can these be used at all...
Gary Oldman. I wonder why he isn't as well known as Bridges (re his photography).

Latest scans back from Silverpan (and edited in Luminar 3). I think the Orca B&W is a nicer film, plus the little Auto 110 shoots 200 at 100 so they get a bit overexposed, and there isnāt the latitude to correct completely. That said, given the size of the camera these arenāt too bad.
Most of y'all know I bought two film cameras and am shooting film for the first time. I've shot 8 rolls so far.
With this forum's help I purchased a film scanner.
And as of last week, I finally found a place in another state where I can send the film to be developed. I hope to receive...
Been struggling to buy a Nikon SP. Impossible to find locally and the ones Iāve been seeing on eBay either have issues or are way to expensive.
Is there any other alternative in Europe, knowing that Iām based in Portugal?
It is easier to be on the Leica team :) but I really like my S2 and...
Just a heads-up, the "color film showcase" subforum contains a lot of B&W films! I was looking for a film stock in the B&W subforum but there are only a few threads there, and the rest of the B&W film stocks are in the color forum.
Remember when you used to get all these mailers in the Sunday papers and you'd mail your film off to be processed in a thick paper mailer?
And then you'd watch the mailbox for your prints?
Believe it or not, I saved some "Free Developing" mailers from the 1990's and I was astonished last year...
I recently bought a Hasselblad Xpan and am in the market for a film scanner. I've done a bit of searching and found that an often recommended film scanner is the Plustek OpticFilm 120 but they're a bit hard to find at the moment. I am seeing the Plustek OptciFilm 8100 still available though -...
I just got a YA2 orange filter which I'm planning on putting on my Ricoh 500G with HP5. I'm finding conflicting advice online as to whether I should change my exposure to compensate for the filter. Since the camera meters inside of the filter rings, common sense tells me it will automatically...
Lots of photos below. I took this roll of HP5+ early this year in Portland Oregon, and it took me a long time to get around to doing anything with it, since I wanted to teach myself to develop B&W myself. Which I did, going the easy route of monobath developer. Happy with how some of these shots...
I discovered some shot rolls of b&w 35mm rolling around a drawer in the storeroom whilst doing a clean out a few weeks ago. Not having a clue what was on them, it was a bit of a gamble getting them developed but I couldnāt just throw them out knowing that I had shot at least one of them on our...
Thought this was impressive - Jamie Livingstone took 6,697 polaroid photos between 1979-1997 - https://mentalfloss.com/article/18692/he-took-polaroid-every-day-until-day-he-died
Links to a site of all scanned photos, more info on his pics & an exhibition put on by his friends in the article.
This is not going to be as long and intense as last years thread, but some might find it interesting - because this time, I did the opposite: Instead of packing my most highly rated gear, I went with two compacts, the Panasonic FZ1000 and, again, the Canon G1X III, plus my father's Olympus XA...
Put your Astia film simulation images here with any custom settings you may be using!

No, we're not talking about a human being.
I've had a Minox GT or GT-E in my possession since I was twenty. Today, I stumbled over a hard-to-see edge and fell (I seem to only do this with a camera in hand ...). I hit the ground on knees and hands - the right hand still clutching my GT-E. While...
I just got an email saying that Australian customers are getting their kit delivered already, Europe and US just starting. @MoonMind are you a definite buyer? I wouldnāt mind hearing how someone else gets on with this before I commit!
First film back from my Pentax Auto 110. Developed and scanned to TIFF by the Silverpan lab, and some level tweaking in Lightroom by me.

An interesting article over at Wired about how the team at VSCO go about creating their film filters for their apps.
https://www.wired.com/story/vsco-film-photo-filters/
It's a short article but something that I had not really thought about before and, after reading that, I'm not sure if I...
Hey folks, I have been hankering after a rangefinder for a long time. I have a couple of functioning film SLRs, since that type of camera seems to be overwhelmingly predominant in all thrift stores, antique shops and even on the auction sites, but I don't like the relative clunkiness and...
Hey, I have zero experience developing film, but it has gotten to the point where no one remotely close to my rural area develops on site, and sending film off to higher quality development houses is cost prohibitive. I would still like to shoot some film, though, and I'm thinking about trying...
April 12th is here :)
What do you currently have loaded?
What are you shooting this weekend?
N90 - Ektar 100
Minolta A5 - HP5 400
F3/T - Fuji Superia 400
I hope to have some time to snap a few frames this weekend!
Lets go! Put your Velvia film simulation images here with any custom settings you may be using!

Like the others in this series, any images taken with the Fuji cameras film simulation set to ProNeg STD.
Please share any custom settings. I pulled this one, again from FujiXWeekly website.
I did tweak a little, as you cannot bake in a custom color shift to the white balance in a custom...

Pretty sure I've posted this elsewhere before but a few more videos are out from the Fix Old Cameras channel - I'm a little surprised by the plastic Minolta gears in the middle video - you could totally imagine stripping those but maybe they're sturdier than they look...
More over here Fix...
I finally pimped the Minolta A5 out a bit this week :)
I ordered the American Flag soft shutter release and hot shoe cover from www.themoregooder.com
Great products! I love the fit and finish :)
I am looking forward to shooting this gem again with warmer weather on the horizon.
