Classic manual 28mm f2.8. One of several versions that were made in the 70s and 80s. Very nice lens with decent close focusing distance of 0.3m, nice coatings, and overall, very good image quality. If I could nitpick, the corners are never super sharp. However, I expected that from a lens from...
A good old manual focus lens, with nice reputation. Well kept and preserved, it feels like new. Having many Helios 58mm lenses, I'm used to the focal length. On a crop sensor, it just feels right.
It's fast, with 1.4 aperture, which is often challenging with focusing, because my X-E1 doesn't...
I just got a Hi Matic 9 a few days ago. I wanted to use it with a cable release today and found out I am unable to release the shutter when pressing the cable.
Does anyone know where the problem could be?
My Minolta a7 locked up with film in it. I had to break the latch to get the film out as it would not fire or rewind or open. Are there any shops that would be able to tell me if this thing is fixable or trash. I don't mind spending a little on it if its fixable.
This lens came out in 1956 and features "multi-layer achromatic coating". This lens is rare, meaning a few hundred made in Leica mount. It was also available in Minolta's proprietary mount for the Super-35.
This is the last lens that I needed to complete a collection of Minolta LTM lenses...
I bought this camera in 1969, my first 35mm camera, and a whole Summer of mowing Lawns. I was 11.
The viewfinder had enough haze built up to make focusing difficult- last CLA was 1976. Time to clean it, I'm a lot better at fixing cameras than I was in 1976.

This is an obscure lens, very little written about it. The 4-digit "3xxx" serial number puts it around 1948. Hard to tell production numbers, but probably a couple of thousand. More than the Nikkor 13.5cm F4, many less than the Canon 135 F4.

I finally pimped the Minolta A5 out a bit this week :)
I ordered the American Flag soft shutter release and hot shoe cover from www.themoregooder.com
Great products! I love the fit and finish :)
I am looking forward to shooting this gem again with warmer weather on the horizon.
Here are a few shots with Ilford Delta 100 taken in Sofia, Bulgaria with my Minolta XD. Starting with a couple of shots of the Museum of Sofia, formerly the city's public bathouse.
Just across the street is the spot where the hot spring water that used to feed the bathhouse is still being...
I see a thread for this film in the Colour Film Showcase but I assume that now there is a section specifically for B&W Film I should post this here.
Here are a few scenes from Sofia, Bulgaria a couple of weeks ago when the snow was falling. Shot on Delta 400 with a Minolta CD and Rokkor MD...
Recently acquired a Minolta X-570, shipped it off to GarrysCamera for a mild repair & CLA. Attached the Minolta 45mm f2 and winder-G to shoot a local parade in March. One roll of Ektar 100 and one Portra 160
