The Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f1.2 arrived two days ago, however due to bad weather I haven't really had the opportunity to take it outside. Just like the other Voigtländer lenses, this one comes with electrical contacts and communicates with most (modern) Fujifilm X cameras, there are some...
The purpose of this was to get a better understanding of the FOV for each lens. I would prefer to select a lens based on the location and then fine tune any zooming with my feet. The settings for the camera, lenses and Lightroom were the same. I wanted to try to minimize any influence on the...

Since there is no showcase for this lens yet, I thought I could as well start one.

Not sure if OK to link to DPR articles, I'll remove it if need be. Cosina is releasing the Nokto 23mm f/1.2 Aspherical manual focus lens in X mount, reportedly available next month for US $780 (approx). Has contacts, so should communicate with cameras.

The new Voigtlander Nokton 50mm F1 uses aspherical optics, floating element, and special glass. Focus is spot-on throughout the entire range with my M9, and accurate at the tested apertures of F1, F1.4, F2, F2.8, and F4.

I picked this lens up a couple of months ago, have been using it on my Leica M9. Work has been "extremely busy", and taking some breaks while my Daughter is out of school.
This lens is fast, relatively compact, sharp, contrasty, and focuses to 0.7m. It uses 52mm filters. About the same size and...
Very excited about this new release from Cosina and knowing further lenses with native X mount will be on the pipeline.
EDIT: Sneak Peek – NOKTON 35mm f1,2 für FUJI X-Mount | Voigtländer
As good as Fuji lens are optically, their handling is a bit lacking (this applies to most manufacturers) if...
I'm not going to reiterate everything that's already been said and written online, but suffice to say that I already somewhat liked the first version enough to want to try the "improved" second version. I've had them both for a couple of months now and feel I can sum things up to maybe allow...
So, yet another Voigtlander lens proves to be brilliant... I went out today to te park, a grey and cloudy afternoon. The park was actually fairly well populated although not "crowded" and interestingly the police were quite present there as opposed to their normal noted for their absence...

Local wildlife
It was really challenging taking photos of the native possums in very low light. It was hard to nail critical focus as they're very fast, devilishly agile, and they dont react or move in a predictable way the little bas...cute critters.
I literally took almost a hundred shots...
The life aquatic afterdark
I was planning to take more photos tonight but it suddenly poured down raining and hailing pretty hard so only had 2 photos to choose from, this was one of them.
Black Swan landing by Moonlight
I hope you dont get tired of the way I shoot, due to the nature of my work, majority of my shots are either in night time or low light.
Time and Tide
I managed to take some shots underneath the jetty today as it was low tide, I couldnt maneuvre properly though as there were still pools of water everywhere, in the end I committed to this shot.
Rosemary
I was planning to have a stroll this evening to take some photos but the weather was really against me (then again I live in Melbourne...) So I had to go with my safety shot, the Rosemary shrub on my front lawn.
