I did a bit of casual (but also affirmative, so to speak) review hunting on various cameras I already possess - in the light of the recent release of the Nikon Z 50 II, I'm trying to gauge its merits (though I'm pretty much certain that at the moment, there's no need nor incentive for me to buy...
I was intrigued by Michael Meissner's recent find on a 3D printed GM1 grip and checked it out.
Post in thread 'Where to get a Lumix GM1 Grip in 2024?'

It seemed worthwhile to follow-up on and went for a...
I've got the old/original FA 50mm f1.4 and really like the results out of it. Interesting to see Pentax reboot the lens with the same look/feel/size...
(wonder if this has anything to do with the rumoured film camera or if they just want to milk some older designs? maybe they stumbled across...
Hi everyone.
I've got this lens over 6 months, so I think it's long enough to give You my thoughts about this stellar prime ;)
This will be user/practical review, from portrait photographer perspective.
First of all, I will write down without any hesitation, that this is one of the best (if not...
Posting yet another mini review for a bit of M43 kit, mostly because the items I've purchased have seemingly been under-reviewed by the usual camera sites. That doesn't make me an expert, but perhaps a bit of detail on a lesser-known product could help a random Googler. This time, it's the Haoge...
I thought it would be good to lay down some comments on the Olympus MCON-P02 Macro converter. This converter works on a small collection of Oly lenses, and I have 2 of them, the 25mm 1.8, and the 45mm 1.8. After messing around with it for a few weeks, I must say I'm entirely impressed with such...
Having stumbled over and followed Sean Tuckers youtube channel for a few years, I bought this book last year but didn't get cracking on it before I brought it with on vacation. I had a rather swell time reading it and it is on the fast-track for re-reading.
Sean Tucker writes in his mission...
A mixture of acquisition/gear review! I scanned a topic of this sort on a photo forum somewhere, but I can't now remember what forum and where.
So, looking back to 2021. What single piece of gear that you bought was the highlight purchase of the year for you?
To me it was the 175 € Fuji...
Fuji X100 is able to show good information when I enter picture playback. There's histograms, there's even highlight blinkies.
But the automatic after-shot picture review doesn't show any information, just the picture. Can it be configured in any way? It would be so perfect if I could get...
Introduction
When I made the trip to the camera store, I had no intentions of really buying anything. I was curious about possibly looking to see if there were any used Fuji XT30 for a good price, but it was really only a curiosity.
When I arrived, I noticed that they had a few used XT3 bodies...

If I am not mistaken, this article raised a small storm back when new. Mark Dubovoy dared to suggest that a Leica could match Nikon D800E!
M240 is such a good camera. It's kind of great that the model went underappreciated...
Wide view from Oakwood Overlook two days ago.
See the little tiny bump in the center of the horizon? Cue the big gun.

While it may not be the best time to be able to get out for review purposes...I did the best I could.
Hope you all enjoy my review of the X100V.
A simple question, I hope. I played with an X-T2 in a local camera shop and couldn't work out whether the following is possible:
Is it possible to set the camera to shoot viewfinder only and Review in the rear LCD?
If so, is that true for the X-T1 as well?
I like it. I've been using it exclusively on the M Monochrom, mostly with a Y2 filter. Latest round of shots- use a 58mm vented hood with 55->58 step-up ring. This eliminated the vignetting that I experiences with the 55mm filter+hood. I will buy some 58mm color filters for use in the future, or...
I went along to Birmingham on Sunday to have a good look at all the cameras I haven't been able to try out. My main aim was to find a smallish camera with a largeish sensor :) My main criteria were: clarity of viewfinder and display; build quality; ease of accessing controls; weight and comfort...
I wrote an article about the Leica X-E (Typ 102) which you can read here: Review: Leica X-E (Typ 102)
The Leica X-E is basically a Leica X2 with different aesthetics.
Pic from the X-E:
I don't know whether the other reviews touch on similar points, but I shake this one down pretty well. To me, this is the most photographic power ever in a package this small.
