Dirty bottles, Dark Laboratory, and the Sigma 45.

Still testing the Sigma 45 2.8. I realize I do seem to have this obsession with testing lenses on groups of bottles in dark laboratories. So, far, I'm really liking the way this lens sees the world.

Micro 4/3 Help me bond with the Sigma 30mm f2.8.

I bought this lens a few months ago as a 1/2 price special from the Aussie agent. At the time I couldn't stretch to the Panasonic 20mm f1.7. I've since picked up a 20mm and can't find any love for the 30mm. Can anyone suggest why I should keep the 30? On m4/3 it is equiv to 60mm - perhaps it...

Sony Showcase Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN images thread

Slightly cropped, both taken with the 30 1.4 stopped down, lens firmware upgraded to the v03 and AF is about the same or faster than the Sony 50mm 1.8 OSS lens, which is not ideal for fast moving subjects.

    Leica Showcase Sigma 45mm F2.8 "L-Mount"

Hi Folks - My Sigma 45mm f2.8 arrived today. I've been without an autofocus lens on my Leica CL for over a year. So far this new lens addition is performing exceptionally. 'Thought I'd post some early grab shots, (most with very familiar image subjects. :rolleyes-74:). Also a screen shot from...

Sigma What I'd Like to See Sigma Do

First of all, this is just me rambling as an outsider to the Sigma ecosystem(? maybe plural, ecosystems?), but I've always really liked Sigma for their daring, outside the box attitude, and the way they in-house everything. We need more companies who aren't beholden to shareholders and can look...

Sigma The Sigma 15-30mm EX DG Lens - Revisiting modern vintage glass!

Lately I've been researching all the various wide angle lenses you can get for a modern DSLR. After shooting mirrorless for awhile and witnessing the smallness and simplicity of compact M-mount wide angle glass, especially the Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 Heliar lens, I've been searching for a DSLR...

    Car Shots Scion iM

Out yesterday in Phoenix with the car after a good wash and stopped to get a few shots. A6000 and 28mm Sigma MF. Wrong time of the day though, 1:00 in the afternoon so I did my best. That early afternoon sun is harsh ;-)

Got a 4K screen, end of pixel peeping?

So I finally got around to replacing my 25" 2560x1440 Dell monitor with a LG 27UD58 27" 4K one. I find that the prices are reasonable now, and spending a lot of time looking at photos and working with photos I felt I could justify the expense. Fortulately my wife agreed :D At first I was...

Well, it's May 1st, so Seattle gets to go through "Anarchists breaking shit" day. Basically 300-400 cops get a bunch of overtime for babysitting would be revolutionaries. It starts out as a peaceful march through the city and always (ALWAYS!) ends with these folks doing some petty mayhem and...

Sigma DP2 Quattro. Harbor Island near West Seattle, WA. 15s, ISO200, F/8. The export has a lot more noise than the original. Need to work out how to handle noise with the Quattro. A terrible camera that produces singular images

So, after owning (and mostly loving) the Sigma DP Merrill cameras, I decided I would create a camera dichotomy: 1) A Sony RX10 mkii which is likely the most technically sophisticated, easy-to-use, compact, and multi-purpose camera ever made. It produces detailed, clinically accurate files with...

Sigma Getting a DP2 Merrill - hope this works

Hi guys, I love the original Sigma DP1 and DP2, and still use them from time to time as I really enjoy the transparent clarity and sparkle of the images. There's something about the way the raw files in SPP have a unique look in the shadows and highlights. I'm about to buy one of the last...
