I couldn't find an "open" skies thread, so thought I'd make one. If I've missed it, then someone will no doubt tell me the error or my ways!
Here's a starter...
Big Sky by Paul Kaye, on Flickr
Quick walk at Frear Park in Troy, NY. As we are strolling, I said to the Spotter-in-Chief, "These skies look fake; like some artist's idea of what a sky should look like when he has no real idea."
Cheers, Jock
A couple of panoramas, stitched together with ICE and shot different days at the overlook at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, NY.
Cheers, Jock (unrepentant sky junkie)
(added later)
Just for perspective, here is where I was shooting from:
The eagles nest is in the trees, dead-center, the big dark blob about one-third down from the top of the frame. I estimate the distance at about 75 yards.
Cheers, Jock

PS -- I don't know why the software here freaks out over the ISO measurement; it does the same thing whether the image is SOOC or has been post-processed.
