Beautiful shots! The first shot from RainforestTrail A is my favourite, andthe Shorepine Bog Trail looks like a fascinating environment. I'd love to go there one day.

Thanks Bart! I like to pick out all those details - they show the "feel" and the texture of the environment. I should have mixed in a few more into this post 🙂

The bog is interesting in that it creates these "bonsai-like" mini pine-trees. All those small trees can be hundreds of years old - but because the roots are fairly short - and the amount of available nutrients is limited, they grow really slowly and stay fairly small...

Thanks for the vicarious visit. We haven't been able to get there since the ferry quit running before covid. What used to be an hour to Vancouver Island is now 2-3 ferry rides and long drives around 🙁

oh, yeah... We wish the ferry-situation to the US would be better... It seems these days it's just the ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles - and none of the other ones are running? (or of course BC ferries from Tsawassen & Horseshoe Bay)

I thought I was looking at photos of Cape Flattery which my wife and I visited a few years ago on a motor home trip to Washington and Oregon. Walkways, steps, views etc etc amazingly similar. Link below'

ooh, yes, that's the same lovely 'temperate rainforest' coastline... Thanks for sharing that! (we'll be moving back to Oregon next year, so Cape Flattery is a spot to put on the destination list for future road trips 🙂 )
