Rico, I have your book and it's excellent. In a few cases my experiences are a bit different from yours but I've learned something on nearly every page; as I've had a camera in my hand for well over 60 years that's unusual. Thank you.

I do have one issue that perhaps you can help with. Your Tip 76, AF-L states that it functions in AF-S or AF-C mode. Mine does not. AF-L works only in Manual focus mode. I've observed with each of my X cameras that one function sometimes interferes with another and I'm hoping that's the case here. Is there something obvious I'm overlooking?

It can't work in MF mode, because there is no AF to lock in MF mode. There is only Instant-AF in MF mode, which is described in a separate tip. Perhaps you meant this feature?

Btw, if AF-L fails in AF-S or AF-C, it's usually not a hardware issue. Most of the time, face detection is still on.
