Fuji 18-55 aperture ring not working

Hey guys and gals. The aperture ring is acting goofy on my 18-55....sometimes it will work and most of the time it doesn't....sometimes it will even adjust the aperture in the wrong direction (!). I don't use it often enough to send it in for repair. And it still works in auto mode (but obviously one can't select the aperture......though by adjust ISO and shutter speed, one can get it to where you need it).

There isn't any sort of workaround for this issue that I'm not thinking of, is there?

I don't *think* there's another way to adjust aperture besides the ring. Crap.

yeah, this is what it does...... If I push the ring towards the front of the lens as I turn the aperture ring, I can get it to work more often than not. With how often I shoot, I'm gonna save the dough and just deal with it.
