</br>Description</br> This is a 1968 KMZ Jupiter-8 in Leica Thread Mount. This one needed a lot of work, complete disassembly, aluminum cleaned using silver polish and an ultrasonic cleaner. New optics module- an export 1968 J-8 with a new front element from a 1980s J8. It worked out nicely. This lens is optimized for close-up and wide-open use on the Leica, and is useable out to infinity at F2. This lens is freshly cleaned, lubed, and adjusted. The focus and aperture movement are very smooth, the lens is custom-shimmed for use on Leica cameras. The glass is clean and clear, hard to find in most J-8's. The mount is in EX condition- some surface marks, aperture blades are clean. Red nail polish used to secure the screws. Unlike the Black J-8's, this lens uses a double-helical, the front element does not rotate while focusing. Getting one to work smoothly is not easy. Homemade rear cap included, no front cap- front element will be protected during shipment. This lens uses standard 40.5mm screw in filters, hoods, and caps.
