That should cover the Spectrum.

Next up will be this lens on the M Monochrom. I ended up calibrating it for the M Monochrom with an Orange filter. I marked the original position. I suspect the lens will be best at F1.4 on the M9, and wide-open with the Orange filter on the M Monochrom.

I want to see how the lens sharpens up on the Monochrom. Just a quick test- more to come.

100% crop, wide-open.

Some very careful tuning for the M9: looks good from 0.8m to infinity. This lens pushes my ability to focus. After a lot of re-assurance using the display after several shots, I'm leaving it set for the M9. I'm also noting the lens does much better at F1.4, sharpens up and has more contrast than wide-open. This lens also exhibits a lot of field-curvature, focus at the edge is closer than the center. I'm used to that with my Sonnars.

Wide-Open at F1.25 ^

At F1.4- good thing this lens has click stops.

I made it to the Marine Museum at Quantico today, shot with the 75/1.25 on the M9 and Canon 85/1.5 on the M Monochrom.

I have the focus of this 7Artisans 75mm F1.25 spot-on with the M9. I'm using a 1.25x magnifier, I could not have focused the lens without it.

These are wide-open. All are with the 75/1.25, I forgot to reset the lens setting. For the M9, does not make much difference for Telephoto lenses.

This lens is sharp enough wide-open across range. Getting it calibrated perfectly for your camera will take a couple of tries: but it is worth the effort. $450 for this lens is 1/2 the price of the Voigtlander 75/1.5, and less than the price of the 75/1.8 used. It's less than the Tax in Virginia for the Leica lens.

Wide-Open at ISO160.

First shot at F1.25, second at F4. Just to show I know how to use the aperture ring...

If anyone went to see the new movie "Midway", this aircraft was the main one featured.
An SBD Dauntless Dive-Bomber.

We went up to Skyline Caverns in Front Royal, VA today. A cold/cloudy day is a great time to get a tour of the caverns- it stays about 50F all year round.

I took the 7Artisans 75mm F1.25 with me, on the M9.

This lens is a bargain at under $500. I find it to have plenty of contrast, sharpness, and light-gathering power. If you are using it with the rangefinder, as I do on the M9, calibrating the cam to the specific camera is going to be necessary. This is easy to do- takes a little time and a couple of iterations. It is well worth the effort.

I like this lens.

On the Leica M9, all shots wide-open using a 1.25x magnifier. I focus as the subject is moving, pan with the subject through the exposure.
ISO 2500, 1/60th second.

This lens is surprisngly easy to focus on a moving subject. A "medium" focus throw.
This lens is ~$450, 75mm F1.25. About the price of the Tax on a Leica lens,

7Artisans 75mm F1.25, Wide-Open on the Leica M9. ISO 2500. The Subject is in focus, but he moved a little while I was taking the Picture.

7Art 75mm F1.25, wide-open on the M240.

This lens is perfect for fast, low light scenes with a Leica Rangefinder.

All using the Rangefinder, not the EVF. Easier to frame and follow the subject with the optical viewfinder.
