A conversation about autumn leaves

About three weeks ago, the better half (aka spotter-in-chief) and I were marveling at the beauty of the autumn leaves . . . the beauty, variety, and intensity of the yellows, oranges, and reds . . . heart-breaking gorgeous. Then two questions occurred: (1) how come we don't see pink and what about blue? (2) Do particular trees always turn the same colors?

When we pulled into our driveway, the first question was partially answered.

Can anyone here answer the second question?

Cheers, Jock
