A digital panoramic camera.

Let's see it in the marketplace with a price. The comments shown in the links already say quite a lot.

I didn't realise there were comments at the bottom of the petalpixel page but sigh it appears I share some of the same concerns.

I really do want a panoramic digital camera though, perferably a swivel lens digital pano like the Widelux (although that's not likely to ever happen). A camera like this could very easily be my everyday carry.

Failing this, maybe the equivalent of a digital Xpan. I'd love this too but I imagine the cost of a camera like these would be prohibitive.

As things stand, the gear I have (including the S21 phone) cover any panoramic need I have. The most telling comment I thought was one that mentioned the developers were more into fashion creations than photographic ones (not their exact words).

There's nothing like the quirks of the Widelux and the beautiful imperfections in the photos it creates, I just love it. There's no other camera like it (and some of the other swivel lens cameras), certainly not digital.

A Sigma fp L might be a better alternative to this product?
(I think it allows to preview digital crops on the LCD too? including, I believe 21:9?)

It’s an equally minimalist camera, but from an established lens (&camera) maker… and allows interchangeable lenses…

My iPhone adds pixels as you make panoramas, my Samsung did not. This gives decent resolutions for panoramas from the iPhone.

I have always wondered about cobbling together a diy fixture to control the pivot better to emulate a Widelux for the iPhone. Has anyone tried that?

I have to take a look at that camera, it came around the time when I was away from all the latest news about camera stuff. Having said that, nothing produces the quirky images like the Widelux does.
