Many options for recovery, but if a drive is exhibiting the 'click of death' or other physical
evidence of failure, then only a pro outfit can recover by disassembling and analyzing
the individual platters' data structure.

I've used software to regain use of corrupted MBR and similar, as well as restoring partitions
to being useable again, but they're typically destructive processes.

If the data is worth spending a few thousand dollars or more for recovery, do it.
Otherwise, let it go.
