Fuji A question about x100

Not a complaint, just a request for verification that my new, to me, x100 is behaving normally.

I notice the camera does not do a very good job of focusing on anything that is less than three feet from the front of the lens when not in the macro mode; when in macro, it does a less than stellar job at obtaining focus on anything. Is this just the nature of the beast?

I do have the latest firmware installed.

I'd suggest you switch to manual mode then focus using the AFL-AEL button.

Used this way, it's very capable of taking great close up shots.

Macro is not a strength of the X100 or X100s (I have both). However, as mentioned, MF is your best bet.
