My wife gave birth today to a beautiful, healthy, HUGE little girl for a couple in France. My beloved old XT1 is stll busted, so ... Original X100 it is!

The day started well, water sorta broke at 4am, but then it cooled off. So we went for a long walk to get very spicey virgin bloody maries at 2 different places. And it worked.

After some labor at the house, the midwife and our daughter walked with us to the hospital. I brought the cargo bike as backup, and sure enough, halfway there the contractions were too strong for her to walk anymore, so she rode in it.

Once at the birthing center, things progressed quickly.

This moment is what my wife wanted, so badly - to do this for someone else.

Everyone's healthy.

And...

I miss good low light autofocus.

Fantastic Pictures, and a wonderful act for someone elses family.

When my Daughter was born, I brought the F2AS with 55/1.2 Nikkor. And a 3-D camera... When asked "do you want to cut the umbilical cord?", got to use the line "NO! That's what I'm paying you for!"

I'm moved to tears by these, especially the ones with the baby's mother. How big is your wife's heart to do this for another couple :flowers_2: Having had three babies myself I know how painful and hard this is and to do it for another mother to have that joy is just incredible. You and your wife are a very special couple :) :hail:
