BB expressed an interest over on the Leica M image thread to see some more pics from a wedding I photographed this weekend - well here is a small selection.

I somehow got talked into doing the whole thing; thus my admiration for professional wedding photographers has reached a new height - I'm never going to fall for it again!

Anyway here we go...

Kal, I can only imagine but your description says it all!

What a wonderfully different wedding - very late 60s early 70s to my eyes...of course I'm dating myself. Surely a fantastic time was had by all - even, I hope poor you as their devoted wedding photographer! I hope you had a chance to dance and have some fun, too, Kal.

This "very English wedding" is certainly different from the big one that was covered over there not too long ago.

You did very well, Kal!

Well, they were going to forego a photographer entirely and trust their guests to record it for them... Well my wife still has nightmares about trying to collect guests photos -months- after our wedding, so she kindly volunteered me into the position. I tried to do a proper job - one that they could look back at with pride, but once the church shots were done, I stopped posing people and just took candids until the M8 battery went; then switched to the film camera (waterproof) and hastily began to refresh myself; already being far behind most of the others. I saved half a roll for the morning after too, and got this

before anyone else was up

Seems to me that you did quite well, Kal. Your wife was smart to encourage you to do this - your photos are a wonderful, long lasting gift.

We hired a friend (an amateur) to take pictures at our wedding. Let's just say that some are very nice, but we got way too many pictures of her boyfriend... I think the candid shots are often the best and most interesting. I am sure that the happy couple are extremely grateful or will be once they see them!

Not your typical Enlish wedding, looks a lot more fun. I love the simplicity and eccentricty in the styles of dress. The bride's dress is beautiful. You done a great job of capturing the day. My best wishes to the happy couple.

Hi, yes we did know the family - the bride is my sister-in-law; and my wife was one of the bridesmaids (the blonde one).
She also modified an off the peg dress into the bespoke design that the bride wanted, so thank you Karen, I'll pass on your appreciation :)

It was a very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable day, between showers and sunbeams we had it all.
