Yashica Auto Yashinon-DX 35mm 2.8 - Bokeh is very painterly - I suspect it is a Tomioka lens based on construction (6 elements, 4 groups) - this was after Yashica bought Tomioka - and the build matches the famous 55mm 1.4 and 50 F2 construction. Hope to try it at some point with better light to check the flare which will likely be a good indication. Either way, I am a fan of the handling of this simple lens.

While rummaging around at the very back of the camera cupboard, I opened up a mystery container and found what was one of my earliest 2nd hand purchases.
I still remember being very clueless and wandering into a camera shop in Long Street and they had two of these on the shelf and I bought one ... Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8D
I seem to think I would have had it for at least 30 years? Can't find any info on when it was first launched; there are many updated versions of this around
I put it on the ikon Z fc with an F-mount adaptor and in fading crepuscular light, took some snaps of building work being carried out on our balcony

If it looks like a prison, worry not : the wall will be broken through

All the best with your building works, Irene.
Having just finished about $100K worth of maintenance etc after 3 years, we understand the sometimes extremely frustrating nature that these works can be.

That old lens looks to be a real beauty, mate. Sharp and good from centre to corners.

I know the model and the colour of the car are completely different but for some reason Starsky and Hutch comes to mind (the TV servies not the movie)?
Same era, same manufacturer and iirc (but I am not really a Ford expert) - the LTD II coupe (what the blue car is, I believe) was just a repurposed Gran Torino (S & H car) - so you might be closer than you think.
