In December, 2010, I purchased a Canon G12. It effectively supplanted an Olympus D-550 (which I still have and still works) that I used professionally (no kidding) for several years. (I used the 550 to shoot pictures to illustrate my stories, for which I was paid.)
The G12 served as my professional rig for several years. For example, for 7.5 years, I wrote a weekly blog for www.airgunsofarizona.com, and the vast majority of the pictures taken for that blog were handled by the G12.
Now the G12 rides in my coat pocket, the rear screen turned inward for protection, and the PASM dial usually set on C1 or C2, so that the camera powers up with the manual focus set on infinity. When I fill the birdfeeders or we run an errand, the G12 rides in my pocket.
Here's a sampling from the past 30 days.
Cheers, Jock
