All things Hi-Fi and Audio - show and tell and discussion

Home office or office office? Also is anyone still releasing music on reel to reel?

Home office. And as far as I know, no. However you can still buy blank tape and record your own music on to it. For fun I’ve ran a Bluetooth adapter into the back of the receiver and piped some favorites from my phone into the system and recorded it on tape, and listen back to it that way. Totally backasswards way to listen, but enjoyable.

My old restored Marantz 2250B receiver has been boxed for for a move for over 5 years now. Couldn't find a simple audio rack anywhere local, so had to order one. It arrived about 9pm yesterday. Put it together today. My Marantz (and some other gear I'll be selling) is finally out of the box, off the floor, on the rack, hooked up, and pumping out the jams. Happy happy, joy joy. :yahoo:

Crappy snap.

Aah, the warm glow of directly heated triodes and small signal pentodes working hand in hand. There's a magic to this amplifier's sound, given the right speakers it makes everything just that little nod more enjoyable to listen. Not soft, not euphonic, but just a little bit more relaxed.

And here's to the fact I can enjoy music again! I've had this oversensitivity to high frequencies in my right ear for a while, and last friday it got completely blocked by earwax. So yesterday I ended up at a doctors office and she rinsed it off. Luckily it came all out after a few runs. The good news is that the oversensitivity seems to be gone! Now my 8" coaxials don't sound like they have too hot top ends anymore, so hooray for that!

Moral of the story: maybe I should switch from using earplugs at work to earmuffs when I'm at the factory floor.

Re: yes. I always use muffs. Can get warm but no problems. Have some favorite Peltor X1A both at work and at home (good when someone plays bad music 😄)
