Some interesting points:
  • This is supposedly the first replica of such garden based on Ancient Egyptian accounts and recent artifacts.
  • The design is typical during the Middle Kingdom period (2040 BCE to 1782 BCE).
  • Ancient Egyptians used the temples and gardens, such as this, as a meeting place between heaven, earth and the underworld.
  • They identified 100 plants that were present during that time, surprisingly, most of them can be grown in New Zealand.
  • 19 to 20 types of cement were used for the structures to have the same integrity as the sandstone used in Ancient Egypt.
  • If an Ancient Egyptian visits the area, he/she will be able to read the prayers or use the place. The hieroglyphs are not random.
  • The colours are matched to the colours and materials available during that time. The yellow, though, is supposed to be gold.

Left Walkway. I am not with her, she just entered the frame. I could have taken another photo but I was already hungry and there was a herd of humans behind me.
