Sony Another Minolta A-Mount beauty, 500/8 AF Reflex

After all the shipping nonsense, this was worth the wait. Using it on the A7 IV with the LA-EA5, autofocus works well and much faster than expected. It is limited to the center focus area, but for this lens that's fine. The camera recognizes the lens and reports f/8. I did some shooting in M and some in P. In P mode the camera responds correctly by changing the shutter speed as the light changes. It has a focus hold button which responds to whatever you have programmed in the body. In my case it switches the camera to APS-C.

The lens is in perfect condition, it looks like it should be setting on a dealer's counter next to the box. It's small for the genre at just over 4-1/2" long. It's also fairly light at just under 1-1/2 lbs. All of the accessories were included as promised. Both caps, hood, hard case, and filters. For $284 including cost for the slowest shipping in the world, it's a nice compact tele for travel. I can imagine this on an M-4/3 body with a 1000mm FOV!

This is from the listing:

I am really surprised at the image quality for a Reflex. I know this lens is well regarded, but even after viewing samples on-line wasn't sure what to expect. This is easily near the top of the genre, and it being the only AF (along with the identical but rebranded Sony when they bought Minolta) reflex ever made makes it more fun yet.
